Frankzao Posted January 23, 2008 Author Report Share Posted January 23, 2008 Smog tests run from $30 - $60 plus $8 certificate. THere are TEST ONLY shops and Test shops. The TEST ONLY ones can only do tests. No repairs or adjustments. If you do your own maintance, tune-ups and the car is running fine, take it to a TEST ONLY shop. The other shops tend to be "Pass or Retest for Free", but cars tend to fail so they can do repairs and get more $$$..... Either way it sucks. Must be tested every two years. The shop I take mine to is a TEST ONLY. Costs $50 plus $8 for the certificate/transmission fee to the state...... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
