mts
Use your Meguirs.
///BHRpowered
you want to use a high end wax, like meguiers. I have done it before, ok results, I usually claybar mine once a year and a mild wax, less brake dust sticks, and very easy to clean
Troutman
What about glass? I have been experimenting with polishing glass.
mts
I use RainX
Kat_Daddy
thanx, ill try it out...
///BHRpowered
I find rainx to be a vastly inferior product, and I will not use it
Troutman
What exact wax does BHR recommend? I currently only have Meguiars quik wax.
Kat_Daddy
ive tried several brands and different mequiars products. The red can meguiars is the best by far...
enginph
Glass: 1. dampen a piece of cloth with water+dishwasher soap+vinegar 2. wipe the glass 3. dry it with newspaper (should be low quality and dyed, just use plain newspaper) Â After that they are so clean that someone should tell how to get rid of small small scratches? Â What about tires bhr?
enginph
Another tip: use matte finish scotch tape to clean your digi-cam lcd, comp. screen, radio lcd in the car etc.. No residue and takes out all the shit..
Troutman
Excellent, well for tyres I recommend this. Â http://www.menke.nl/webshop/image.php?productid=16282
///BHRpowered
meguiers all the way  I personally use the professional grade cleaner wax, not found in many stores, but the standard gold class is excellent, along with the step 2 polish etc
enginph
So they wont harm the tires?
Kat_Daddy
saint i hear using newspaper on your windows can actually scratch the glass, u should use sumn less harsh. i never used it so i dont know...
enginph
You may be right. Thats why i said just stupid low-Q newspaper not white paper that may have fibers hard enough to scratch. I did it several times for the inside and havent seen any scratch after wiping.
///BHRpowered
you never wax the tires, don't be lazy and just smear it around.
sirmakesalot
i wax my windows whenever i wax the rest of the car. it makes the tint look darker, and it also works a lot better than rain-x
Troutman
Excellent, I will keep an eye out for the wax in stores then.
///BHRpowered
rain-x is a piece of shit. Â I have some older clay that I use on my wheels and windows, then wax. It makes the tint look barely darker, but it adds that liquid look I'm fond of
enginph
Why do you use same clay on wheels and windows? Windows are more precious than wheels.. So they deserve same clay that you use on paint..  rain-x is a piece of shit.  I have some older clay that I use on my wheels and windows, then wax. It makes the tint look barely darker, but it adds that liquid look I'm fond of
///BHRpowered
no no no. Â actually, the wheels are more important, glass is easy to replace and will always be new, a single rim will cost more then a new windshield and be harder to find, let alone being used. Â also you NEVER EVER use the same clay on glass and wheels as you do paint. I'm sure some people do, but among true detailers, and pretty much as a requirement of most detailing clubs and forums, its forbidden. Â Alot builds up on the windshield a large surface that the most air hits, front bumper is also bad, but its not as big a surface area, but its much harder unlike the paint finish, wheels also have a hard finish, but a good claybar will remove subborn brake dust you may not even know is there. Â BUT, for example if you drop your clay on the ground, you should never ever use it on paint again, but for glass and wheels its ok. Troutman
This appears a fairly new product, and over $35 for a bottle here!   Product Details After 10 years of research and development into advanced polymer chemistry, Meguiar's has created a wax powered by Engineered Synthetic Polymers (ESP) technology. The result is the most advanced synthetic protectant available for today’s modern paint finishes. Our ESP technology eliminates fine scratches and swirls and leaves your finish deeper, wetter, shinier and more reflective. For unsurpassed application results, we recommend applying NXT Generation Tech Wax with our Even-Coat Applicator or Applicator Pad and removing the residue with a Microfibre Polishing Cloth or 100% Terry Towelling Cloth. sirmakesalot
it makes the windows look darker because they are more reflective, thus harder to see inseide
///BHRpowered
I'm not at all impressed with the nxtgen wax, does not provide the depth of the standard gold class, doesn't protect as long
