Fading Black Plastic

Recommended Posts

I still haven't found a permanent cure to faded black chrome. Meguiars products only work temporarily...the most effective solution is to just replace the parts with new ones. :-)

what black chrome?

are you talking about powder-coating? none exists on the millenia, but my jeeps brush guard and rock sliders are fine, no fading at all, and all I have to do is wash them

not to me, its known as black plastic, or rubber.

and what I had on my old jeep, the very rough unpolished unpainted plastic for the cladding was in no way "chrome"

Without comparing products back to back, I can say I am very pleased with the Meguiars Gold Class trim detailer. It was particularly good on the black mirrors of a friend's Suzuki. I will keep an eye out to see how long the results last.

I ended up being out of town for the weekend. I may try to test the back to black on Sunday.

Depends on weather and whether or not I have to work.

I have the stuff. Have had it for almost 2 weeks now.

I was not planning to be out of town last weekend.

Unfortunately, I have to work this weekend, so it will have to be Sunday.

I also haven't installed the new ignition in the F150 either.
