enginph
There are two hoses that run between the resonator and s/c bearings. On the other forum after some discussion it is almost certain that should those hoses broken they perish the s/c! No CEL no sign just the white smoke when it is already too late.. After i bought the car (102k miles) when trying to figure out the vac diagram i realized a hole in one of them, changed it. I urge everyone who never changed the hoses to check out those two hoses. The two brown that connects under the front i/c and goes to resonator.. http://www.mazdaworld.net/forums/index.php...post&id=
Frankzao
I am pretty sure they are all important. After all they all have hose clamps. I will have to check those for sure ....

///BHRpowered
holy fuck, I've opened this thread like 5 times today to read it and then the phoine rings or whatever. The pissbucket wouldn't know anything unless you can repair it on xbox or throw 20's on. all the hoses are important, and on mine, all have clamps of some type. I would imagine a small crack you can't see greatly accerates any problems, but a flat out broken or disconnected hose would cause things to get into the S/C or not enough air or whatever and cause it to go bad. enginph
Those two hoses, according to the theory, provides the required pressure to keep the oil in place. You all know what happens once oil gets through the bearings.. They are hidden, the best practice is to change them at 80k or so at latest. Mine was broken at 100k!! ///BHRpowered
I have seen plenty of Millenia's with cracked vacuum lines, but usually not that early, and it usually only affects power, not the S/C itself. camels was at 291k and I don't think they had ever been changed, just the coolant lines
enginph
Camel had 95 right? Doesnt it have the better quality of everything? Brass tees and such... It also depends on weather. My car was around ohio... At 100k one had a hole.. I even have the pic. Well thats a tiny mini hole but hole is hole!
///BHRpowered
some people think the 95-96 is higher quality, I disagree, if anything it has more failures just by being the first gen, some things are made from different materials, but 95-99 the engines are exactly the same, apparently 00-02 are slightly different, including a different S.C model, although I personally don't know what the differences are. Frankzao
I replaced a plastic T last night on mine. The heat wore right thru it. The hoses were fine.

Agreed, I've had one completely rotten vacuum line and the more recent fried Ttap. CEL was thrown but still drivable as normal. HEHE, post 420. enginph
There are several Tees. The troublesome ones are under the rear intercooler pipe. Hard to see, harder to catch a shot. You can track the hoses from the map sensor above the passenger wheel.

enginph
These are too thick for 4mm. I d better use plastic smaller ones... They dont break every year anyway..

enginph
You wrote 1/4'' (8/32'') for ID who knows what the OD is, and you have 5/32'' ID hoses... This is like trying to fit a S glove to a XXL thing
