MazdaMomma
So, what did Mazda have to say? Â Or have you heard from them yet?
street3890
Well i went there with my dad, and explained the problem, the guy was honest and said the mce is a rare engine and it's expensive and hard to find things. The guy didn't really know what the problem was but it would be $100 an hour there!!! And i dont wanna spend that much on something that they MIGHT find!!! There are no vac leaks/cracks, but im still gonna change them all. Any others suggestions?
Matt64341
$100 is expensive, mine is about $80 an hour. I think you should buy a multimeter and test the ABV, it is the easiest thing to check. Â
street3890
Ok, ill do that.
street3890
But what do i hook the multiplier up to? The abv? or the solenoid? IDK? lol  Pictures would help!!!
street3890
Ok, the problem is still occuring randomly but more then usuall so maybe it's settling and maybe easier to find. Where can i get a solenoid valve from???
///BHRpowered
only trust mazda to work on it, they've been trained and still have to slow down and think about it, at my dealerships there are only 3 mechanics who have been trained on the MCE out of like 15, and only 1 of them is allowed to touch my car. Â 100 an hour is pretty fair, most places are 95-120, even 10 years ago it was 75 an hour
///BHRpowered
plus what your forgetting is that its 100 to find hte problem, if you get it repaired you usually don't pay that, they find it in 30 minutes, take some time fixing it an itsall rolled into one, or you could pay 50-100 for them to tell you whats wrong and you fix it yourself
street3890
True true..
Renboy
Bullshit, they charge the diagnostic no matter where you get it fixed. And even if I made $150/hour, I still wouldn't pay them $100/hr to fix my car. They're not that good, or knowledgeable.
street3890
So what do you suggest i do?
street3890
??
///BHRpowered
whenever I have gone in on other cars they only charge the diagnostic fee if you don't get the work done there
Renboy
There's more than enough info here to fix it yourself.
///BHRpowered
if you know what the problem is
street3890
Exactly thats my problem!!! And could my father and i instal a solenoid valve ourselves or no???
Renboy
Unless both of you have both arms broken and in casts, you can easily replace the solenoids yourselves.
