ing-schu@online.no
Anyone denying the vastly different tranny behaviour in the 2,5 and the Miller Cycle obviously have never driven both cars. A tranny more willing to downshift and allow the engine to rev harder will be regarded as more sporty. And the 2,5 tranny is very eager to downshift, bang to second all the way up to 65 mph. When flooring a Miller Cycle at 60 mph it will typically go to 3rd, right?

enginph
According to FSM, 2.5 kickdown to 2nd occur around 56-61 mph, 2.3 occurs around 52-56 mph. So 2.5 has 4-5 mph advantage. I think this is expected since redline for 2.3 is 6k rpm whereas it is 6.5k rpm for 2.5. I think MCE will take less advantage of CVT compared to an average car. MCE has a very flat torque curve, so more rpm doesnt mean more torque. But of course a non-slipping tranny wouldnt be bad
///BHRpowered
its eager to downshift because the 2.5 is struggling at best to get that fat thing moving, the 2.5 should have NEVER been put in a car that heavy, even the 2.3 is underpowered. It should have been a 3.0 at a min.

SteveSter
BHR the whole point of the MCE is because it has the efficiency and displacement of a 2.3 yet the power of a 3.0L and back in 1995 210hp was not bad. IMO having a flat torque curve is what is needed with a CVT so that you are in the power band more often than not.
///BHRpowered
yes steve which is fine nad dandy, but the millenia shouldn't "have the power" of a 3.0 it
SteveSter
Why shouldnt it have the power of a 3.0L? I think a supercharged 3.0L in the milly would be nice too.
///BHRpowered
I still await xedos's answer what I'm saying is that in 95 it had the "power" of a 3.0, but a 3.0 wasn't class leading, it should have had the power of a 3.5 or even a small v8

///BHRpowered
no steve I did not, as cuto is both wrong on a fundamental level - and you'll all suffer for it, the only question being what is your breaking point? when all your land is taken away and your a servent of the goverment standing in a breadline? now cuto - my millenia will last for generations, and when I do take the millenia out I drive it as it was mean't to be driven. low power might be fine for sitting in traffic like a common piece of junk - but not a millenia who should be free, free to have air rushing over the intercoolers at all times, free to NEVER have anyone infront of it on the road. you use your millenia, I drive mine - big difference

///BHRpowered
I fully agree with lat, infact there were V12's being developed for the millenia, or I should say its big brother. and cuto what exactly is your problem - I drive my millenia, you do not, you use and abuse yours on a daily level. How can you sit there and have a problem with someone who takes care of the things he has. Oh right because you believe in obama and want the goverment to ratin everything and everyone and nothing is special

Oh right because you believe in obama and want the goverment to ratin everything and everyone and nothing is special I'm done arguing with you (or maybe not coz it's fun). Car's are meant to be driven; women are meant to be humped; food is meant to be eaten. SO if you THINK you are taking care of your milly just by driving it every 6 months and spend the rest of the year staring at it and polishing that rice spoiler, well my friend: don't treat your woman or your food the same way, coz otherwise someone else is gonna eat both. I drive my car everyday , with care. Fuck my woman whenever she wants, with care. Eat my food when i need to, with care. Don't you acuse me of mistreating any of those. NOW: go see if your milly is shinny and your woman waiting, coz i think you really don´t eat, you vampire!
