Hey dot neters, were trying to set up a meet in NC for April 23 - April 25. So far we have a total of 9 people possibly going from the .org

Gripdog will be helping us out with where to go and what do while at the meet since he is from there. We chose NC because its a good middle point for us in south FL and those in NY Were hoping for one track day and a day to work on out cars and go for a milly cruise.

Anyone interested in going?

hmm, interesting.

Sadly the economy forced us to cancel MWM09...very sad, the first miss since 2003.

If I go I doubt it would be in the millenia, especially since I'll be moving around that time. What part of NC as that would make a BIG difference.

Oh and one more thing, if 9 people confirm that means about 2-3 are hopeful and maybe 1 will actually show. Trust me, I'v been doing this along time.

MWM03 - Potomac Mills VA - The birth of the MWM

MWM04 - Edison NJ. Great turnout, all day event

MWM05 - Washington DC. Best drive, 2 hour video by malice

MWM06 - NJ, Half day event

MWM07 - Kentucky. INTERNATIONAL TURNOUT!!!! all weekend event, shared cabins

MWM08 - Deep Creek Lake MD. AMAZING housing, beautiful views, the lake, the food, etc but small turnout

MWM09 - Cancelled due to obama

MWM10 - ????

Well grip lives in greensboro but he said there is a track 1 hour away in VA we can go to so i figured we would stay somewhere between there.

Were trying to get as many east coast people as possible so that we do have a good turnout. So were trying to make this as easy and cheap as possible so noone has any complications and cant go.

And BHR there will be no punching strippers.

punching? I'v never punched a whore. Slit there worthless nonmale thoat with a knife maybe but you didn't say that.

Trust me, wait until the event, on average we've had 15-25 people confirm for an event and barely any show up.

I would be interested in catching a ride in a millenia coming south and split gas...give someone he chance to see my millenia in its natural state.

Product of the economy and cash for illegal socialist clunkers. Time to expand beyond the millenia perhaps.

I would be AMAZED if at the actual event you had 5. If I can catch a ride id be up for it.

See if there are cabins or something in the area, renting out several small cabins and/or a large house keeps the cost down and has proved very nice in the past

hmm, so lat would you drive? or fly to d.c or greensboro?

Steve - need more details, what are we doing, is it a full 2 day thing or just come whenever? I can tell you from experience we need things planned (the go kart races at MWM08 rocked)

You fill in all the blanks about what were doing, hotels/housing

As for angel...I might take you up on that offer, Jeep isn't so great with MPG and not sure if Audi will be ready by then. Millenia....eh, depends alot on the weather. Historical MWM's bring thunderstorms, infact for the last 6 years the millenia has only seen rain 5 times, 3 of which were massive downpours on the way to or from MWM. 07 clearly being the worst driving through a hurricane.

Give me a couple more days to figure this out better, never done this and gripdog will be the one to let me know what hotel he would recommend and what activities there are for us to do in that area, so far he said that a day at VIR (virginia international raceway) would be cool and we can watch drifters and anyone who wants to run the milly can.

BHR since you can edit posts at any time would you mind making a pinned thread with an updated list of people going/ interested in going in the first post, or any mod for that matter.

go karts can also get expensive, if I go ill be on a budget.

I think you people are using google which is HORRIBLY INFERIOR IN ALL WAYS!!!! EVERYTHING THEY CREATE IS GARBAGE SURPASSED ONLY BY APPLE.

Beyond that mapquest shows VIR to be 71 miles from greensboro, so for people coming from up north we would get there then go over an hour in opposite direction?

Sorry i havent been here in a while... little stressed with life and couldnt keep up with both sites.

5 are def. Steve, myself, Gripdog (since he lives there) and two others that i know will go. Clue is planning on catching a ride with me since we both live in the same neighborhood, but dont know if he is a def.

If people plan on staying the whole weekend i'd stay but some will leave the same night. I know of 2 that already said they would stay the day and leave at night.

Just wanted to throw in my word.

  • 3 weeks later...

I cannot attend as work is tying me up and we are still dealing with the death of my mother in law last month.

I have attended 2 meets, MWM07 (totally awesome) and MWM08. Go karts were off the hook!!!

BHR is correct in his statements about attendance.
