enginph
Hmm. BHR did you have LEDs on your high mount brake when you had cc issue?
Troutman
My issues were fixed when I replaced ONE bulb of the 4 at the back with an incandescent. Don, if the big towers won't fit, you should be OK with either the high power 194 with heatsink, or the SMT tower. I know you had probs with your last high power 194s, but the heatsink does make a big difference I think...
DoN_BLaZe34
I understand. If you were choosing between the high power 194 with heatsink and the SMT tower which would you go with? Essentially I'm asking you to rank the three bulbs in order of brightness, although it sounds to me that you're ranking the 25 tower SMT #
///BHRpowered
don, I went with the ones from SL, the larger LED's put out more light then the ones with just a bunch of tiny LED's, if the spread were better id consider it, but there not. For the 3rd brake light 194's I would go with the high power direct ones that go nearly straight back, I believe you have 4 or 5 to replace? DoN_BLaZe34
5. I'm just worried about the cruise issue coming back
enginph
5. I'm just worried about the cruise issue coming back Why dont you just put the load resistor..
///BHRpowered
don, The cruise issue was solved, I posted the guide with pictures and parts in the tech section. the 3rd brake light shouldn't have anything to do with it, keep in mind I have the OEM spoiler which ahs LED's in it, and it doesn't cause a problem
enginph
I have 4 leds and high mounts are bulbs (like don), no cc issues..
Troutman
The 25-LED is MUCH brighter overall, however it is very bulky and won't always fit.
DoN_BLaZe34
another potential issue...i can only imagine how mad i would be had i bought five of those damn bulbs and they didn't fit
///BHRpowered
Id stick with the 194's I recommended, 921's would also work
Troutman
The 25-LEDs are basically 921-size, but yes the 194s will be on the safe side.

Troutman
This is along the lines of what I'd recommend. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2pcs-501-W5W-1W-Hig...oQQcmdZViewItem
Troutman
It's been a long time coming, but it seems "warm" white colour temperature is finally starting to appear for automotive applications.
enginph
It's been a long time coming, but it seems "warm" white colour temperature is finally starting to appear for automotive applications. Hmm where would you like some yellow in the white?
Troutman
Most people much prefer a warm colour temperature for interior lighting.

///BHRpowered
indeed, as some may remember I have my overhead lights off, just the doors with stock lights, upscale lounge feel. On another note, I decided to test out the 3-led #74's and I'm impressed, they seem a bit whiter then other led's, but we'll see how long they last. Also, for the millenia's security light I went with the new 194 bulb with 4 forward facing high power LED's, hot damn, works great for direct light areas like the security light, very bright blood red now. Troutman
Good stuff, and the 3-LED lasts as long as the other kind, which of course varies depending on the car..
DoN_BLaZe34
this was some time ago, but how have they held up bhr?
Troutman
My 3-LED 74 died, which considering I barely drove the car was totally unacceptable. Also because it's a pain taking out the cluster, I returned to 'super white' incandescent.
DoN_BLaZe34
how unfortunate that they died so quickly...
