SKI
Good example....however, water is made up of what we have "named" and have "determined" to be two Hydrogen and one Oxygen. This is the basic flaw of human thought and philosophy. We interpret things as we see them, whether they are reality or not. The realm of human understanding expands all the time, all the while undermining what we thought we knew. The world was once flat, the sun and stars revolved around the earth, global warming is caused by green house gases.....all scientifc fact by the standards of those who developed the ideas...all proven wrong over time. mts
The trouble with advancement is that it is relegated to be compared to "fact". Who's facts you ask? Scientists. But when were most of these "facts" discovered.... when the world was still believed flat by some. Humanity has one great flaw, it lives for the past. Thus clouding the ability to look ahead to the possibilities. Â And Dallas is right, we can scientifically prove how a baby is conceived and born... but what gives that baby the personality that exudes from their pores as they grow? We assume it is from parental teaching, but any parent knows there is an attitude unique to each child as they develop.
mohamedeladawy@hotmail.com
u can view the past as well. u just need to go around the entire universe and back at the same spot really fuckin fast

///BHRpowered
because you cannot travel faster then the speed of light ,but in theory if you could bend space time you could travel a distance faster then the speed of light. Â point a on 1 side of the room, point b on the other, there is distance in between, but if you could bend space so that the points overlap, you would instantly be anywhere in the universe

///BHRpowered
a good movie, but that worked on hte idea of created an artifacial blackhole, which would never work, if you ever read a brief history of time (revised 2003 edition) it explains the blackhole travel concept
Dallasaurora
But the principle was still the same...bringing two points in time together, passing through that point, then restoring the two points to their original location, thus simulating time travel. ///BHRpowered
not exactly time travel, just seeming to be able to travel faster then the speed light. in theory, if you could do it it would be no harder to cross a 10 foot room or the entire galaxy in the same time span  can you imagine how much fedex or UPS would pay for the technology

He is a product of what humans believe to be scientific fact, which is the point I was illuding too. The evolution of concepts being enhanced and refined (as you stated it), clearly indicates that the concept wasn't actually a fact if it indeed had to be refined. There is a whole wealth of knowledge that we, as a race cannot nearly comprehend, let alone phathom. It goes beyond the evolution of understanding and begs to answer what we are really capable of.
