A Sad, Sad Day

Recommended Posts

Today my children I visited a pick n pull junkyard.

Headed to the mazda section I was filled with the dread that I might happen upon the G'old Beast and have to answer to it for its current state.

No sooner than that thought ran through my head, I stumbled upon a G'old 95 L, and a wine 96 S.

It is a terrible, terrible thing to see them in such a pillaged state, and made me very, very sad. To imagine that a millenia could ever wind up in such a manor is a scary thought. These bitches had ripped out the gauge cluster, breaking things just to get at some stupid insignificant part.

But at the same token, with door panels removed, and fenders gone, lights removed, it gives a great opportunity to see the strength and quality that went into the millenia, and it's an awesome reminder that it was only the beinning of what could have been. They had lived long and served well, 145k on the L and 152k on the S. I visited with them and gave them a moment of silence.

Have any of you seen a 95 with body damage? Trout, anyone want to weigh in on the paint? The rear drivers side "curve" above the tail light was smashed in, the damn car looks like it was coated in fiberglass, sitting above the thick metal skin. The paint was broken and chipped, but the paint is as thick as very very thin fiberglass. That was amazing to see. I kept a couple of chips... and I got the grille from the 95, as you can see. :shifty: It was missing all the clips but I took some from a 323 that was sitting next to them...

The 96 still has the changer in the trunk, and still has the S/C on it.

I noticed something odd on hte 95, i've never seen them with that weird bose radio, the speakers in the door or trunk (ripped out of the panels and hanging... I put them back in, out of respect) weren't marked bose, and I didn't know they had the cupholder in the centre. I was almost hoping they'd have the secret sunroof fan. And trout, you had mentioned one time that your 800 had the plastic thing in the trunk instead of cardboard... is the attached pic what you were referring to?

I'm surprised at the interest in that plastic thing... mine never really fitted properly so I pulled it out altogether.

You should see the wooden thing. As if they used all the same for all models.. That plastic is a better fit, i can confirm.

Lat is getting closer to drive a eunie :)

lat, your car still looks like a millenia, even with that phony grille....that'd be like me sticking an S on my car with the chrome S rims and making people think it was an S, which the rims I'm going to do but not the S tag.....

well you know, all of you fail to see the point, the point is that no one besides me and anyone on mazdaworld knows the millenia well enough to know that a eunos does not exist in the US, the point is to to fool the average person into thinking its a rar eand exotic car, and TRUST ME no one can picture in there head what a millenia looks like. the stupid guy at the place you paid at the junkyard was "WHAT a 626????" no a MILLENIA, "what that an suv????," so you should get an idea of what i mean.
