enginph
never heard of such brand This is the best oil as per Ren..
SteveSter
I agree with Ren I used that stuff in my 2.5 and it was freakin great stuff. Kept everything nice and clean and had a performance improvement, im running Mobil 1 high milage full synthetic for now and then when I do the TB VCG's Oil Pan gasket and Cam Seals on my 2.3 I will switch over to RP. ///BHRpowered
jackasses, not sure why it went up so much, went to advance auto which lists it as 7.20 on there website, but in store was 8.95, and the filter was 13 dollars instead of 11.50. so I went with tried and true mobil1

///BHRpowered
I don't even set foot in the parking lot, infact when checking they still have it at hte same price on there website, Ishould make a complaint. also the thing about mobil1, despite being fully synethetic and working very well, its almost clear when new, so you can easily tell when dirty, royal purple is a dark ass purple and looks almost as black going in as it does coming out of some ghetto rat who waited 7500 miles to change there oil

///BHRpowered
in crappy unmaintain engines, at around 1500 miles the oil in the millenia still looks brand new, infact I could easily take it out of there and run it another 2k in the jeep if I wanted. but no damn it, royal purple should be almost clear so you can tell when its dirty
enginph
I cant wait Ren's response in that case..
///BHRpowered
I said I would try it and I have, but it was already off to a bad start, nor have a noticed an increase in mileage over mobil1.
SteveSter
Its dark because its full synthetic unlike Mobil1 which is petroleum based. RP uses plant oils which have a much higher film strength allowing the oil to stick to metals alot better allowing for piston rings to wear out less and for the oil to stay on surfaces longer so that on a cold start there is more lubrication. Its performance oil which is used in alot of racing companies they cant all not have a good reason for using RP.
///BHRpowered
umm no, actually it would be the other way around, it should be crystal clear. however, its dark because royal purple...having purple in the name adds coloring I'm still conducting my RP real world tests, diff's are doing ok, but tonight I almsot had some issues with the front, if the RP is really that horrible that I need to add more FM then i'll certainly never be using it again
