Wtf Are They For?

What are the nipples on headlights for? Do they have any purpose, or are they simply there to annoy the shit out of anyone polishing their lights? My lights are yellow as hell, and I am going to polish them, but I want to grind those damn nipples off to make it nicer to work on.

..

you mean on the 95-96 style ones with the plastic covers?

the 97-02 don't have them, and most cars now don't have them, it seems to be only on plastic fluted headlight covers for some reason.

I heard years ago that when there was a snow storm the headlights would heat up and those "nipples" would get hotter and hold more heat and somehow make ice come off?

sounds luike BS, but its all I got. On my old infiniti I was scraping ice off and broke them off by mistake

It just took me 2 1/2 fucking days to clean the interior of my car. I went as far as removing the dash and instrument cluster so there would be no dust lines anywhere. The seats came out too for a cleaning and moisturizing. I hate cleaning interiors, and I hate what winter does to them. I still have to take my mats to a laundrymat to wash them, that I'm not doing at home.

if you ever use rubber or all weather mats its best to remove the factory mats and clean the carpet before putting anyhting eles in, otherwise it grinds it in and takes abit more to get them out.

I don't have an all weather mat in my millenia, but I use to, my secert of carpet cleaning is one of those portable carpet cleaners designed for people with not so house trained puppies, they worked extremely well on automotive carpets, then simply put your all weather mat on top of a fresh clean, and DRY carpet

Just curious, can/should leather seats be steam cleaned? Mine look nice from a distance, but up close you can see crap built up between the natural ridges of the leather. No matter how much I tried to clean them (even with an electric toothbrush) I couldn't get that shit out. I wonder if steaming them would loosen that crap.
