///BHRpowered
After some tuning and issues I took out both my subs and one simply isn't hitting as hard or as clear as the other, I would estimate maybe about 70% as hard. I switched the wiring around and its not the amp, every channel is the same except on this 1 sub. The cone seems fine, and both subs are the exact same age and have been together since the beginning, neither has been anyway near peak. Oh both are JL-Audio 12-w3-d2 subs. 250w rms and 500 peak I believe.
Jdubs99
Use a digital multimeter and test the resistance of both subs. If both are within about .2 ohms of each other, something may be happening. If both are within spec, trace it back to the amp. try reversing channels and see what happens. If you get the reverse effect, it's the amp. If it replicates the problem, it could be the signal coming back from the headunit.
AngelOfDeath
had this happen with my JBL audios a few years ago. I ended up throwing them away since they seemed bad.
///BHRpowered
where would I get one of these multi-meters? if I reverse it the same sub is still hitting light
mts
Ummm.... any parts store... Sears.... etc. Then you need to measure the resistance across each sub...
///BHRpowered
might have to look into that this weekend. I'm sure I could pick up a replacement now-a-days for cheap. Then again, I think it may be time to downsize, maybe go with 2 10's or something
