:don: wait until Adolf BHR sees this....

Hey, I am all for it, another great way to generate taxes off the weak... hell alkohol and tobacco are already legalized, and have far worse side effects...

Yea, I really dont see why its illegal, the U.S could improve its economical situation by legalizing it and its not even bad for you there is no way of overdosing and if used regularly within reason it can actually be beneficial to old peoples health.

And BHR before you comment calling everyone hippies I would first like to know if you have tried it.

incorrect, the only pro for this is the taxes, eyt in reality the amount of money that would then be spend on more DUI and a whole host of other area's, not to mention shifting patrols, watching over stupid chldren and there even more retarded parents, the affect on the healthcare system all greatly outweigh the tax income.

People say its a good for certain medical conditions, the reality is there full of shit, synethetics which are fully legal do a much better job.

The money spent on the pointless and endless war on drugs also cost the taxpayer alot of money.

If they made Marijuana legal then there shouldnt be any reason to give out DUI's for it. I dont think it impairs my ability to drive a car or to use reasonable judgement.

Healthcare would go down not up since people would be using marijuana instead of prescription medications which are costly.

Another thing think of the increase in fast food restaurants and snack sales from everyone getting the munchees. Haha

It doesnt make people stupid, people make thelselves stupid by acting as if though they are "stoned"

I don't have to read past the first sentence to show your dead wrong.

Heres the thing, people do it because its illegal, also because there weak minded fools, but when it no longer illegal its no longer some big thing, which mean they'll go looking for other things that are, so instead of a few officers arresting people who should have been killed at birth and pulling some bags off them you'll have hundreds of millions of dollars going into herion and cocaine trafficing along the border, at which point the entire country will be like 1980's miami.

what we should do is ban whore juice...along with fox and mtv. If people can't deal with reality then they need to get off the fucking ride.

It is so much harder to make other drugs like cocaine though, weed is grown in houses and back yards, not imported like others, yes it would cause ppl to try other things but when they see how badly it affects them compared to marijuana they will learn their lesson and stick with the stuff that is cheap and legal. And when banning things like tv channels thats the government controlling what information goes in peoples minds which is censorship like in the book Fahrenheit 451 and I believe its wrong, everyone should be entitled to their own opinions and to have an opinion you must have all of the facts which things like books, newspapers and television provide.

its grown in houses because there isn't high demand for it outside of PARTS of NA and europe.

cocaine on the other hand has a very heavy worldwide demand, you think you can't grow cocoa plants in your backyard? If I wanted to I could grow, cut , and sell cocaine pretty easily, infact easier then pot.

Idon't think you understand the full problem, not to mention even half of the affects, on the smallest end is the simple why. People already have enough to get to reality, people can't even take a 5 minute bus ride anymore without getting out an ipod or cell phone, sit the fuck down and deal with your own thoughts.

I think the biggest problem is that when caught they are not given a sterm enough punishment, its contra-band, stop treating it like a slap on the rest and treat it like the felony that it is.

You can't have it both ways, you can sit in a field listening to music vomitting on yourself, or you can wise up, contribute to society and have a say in politics, not both.

Would you let someone with the mentality of a 5 y/o work on your millenia, because thats what society is as a whole and getting worse

Just because people smoke pot doesnt make them dumb. I know a 48 year old guy that smokes pot just about everyday and he is a succesful person at what he does. I also know a 25 year old guy that smokes with his entire family atleast a couple times a week and they are all regular middle class working people making it through life day by day just like the rest of us. Its not about reality or escaping your thought its just an enjoyable activity for people as playing a sport or having a hobby is. Now I do believe that there is a time and a place for everything though so that not all of society is affected. But who say that legalizing marijuana would cause every person to do it? Certain people think its immoral and noone is putting a gun to their head but some people want to have the right to do something at their own discretion.

I am certainly in favour of a huge tax hike on alkohol of all kinds, which seems to be effective in Norge... as far as these other drugs go, whatever is genuinely cheaper for the taxpayer I am in favour of, which no one seems to agree on. However, there must be a total ban on all advertising of such products including cigarettes and alkohol.

Prohibition all over again. People are doing it, and will do it. Better to legitimize it and punish those going outside the established system. Far more harm has been caused by those hopped up on *This reference banned by MW* than marijuana. Just like with every legalized drug, social darwarinism will take its course that don't maintain control. Risk is low, gain is high (lol). The DEA is perfectly capable of converting itself from an enforcement to regulation agency, and would prove itself more effective than it is now. Better that pot is regulated, inspected (no lacing) and dispersed regularly. The numbers back up the argument as does prohibition. Hell, the president of our country at the time had booze smuggled into the white house. He had kegs waiting waiting when it was repealed.

It's a slippery slope, but i would draw a definate line at that point as far as drugs are concerned.

Steve, i agree with most of what you said. I don't care what anyone does in the confines of their property. However, driving impaired in any way, shape, or form with the chance of your decisions affecting other members of society is wrong. But, we have steep laws for that to induce lessons learned for most people. Again, social darwinism. Cause and Effect.

BHR, way off base. Prohibition was frankly dumb, and i again mention social darwinism. Those not fit for society purge themselves eventually whether it be drugs, physical, financial, etc. The point of margin is how long they last, and if any societal resources are spent on the ultimate outcome.

Trout, marketing is successful to a point. The human response to advertising is pretty defined at this point to the mediums we currently have. Prohibition would again by my argument. There are certain substances in society that man has cultivated and used, and always will use without regard to societal influence. Tax hikes and reduced advertising would only effective to a certain minimal degree.
