  1. That SMT resistor is 0.1 cent! And diode is not much different. Placement and getting it right? Thing of how many electronic equipment with sophisticated electronics inside sold every second for couple of bucks, even free cell phones. Building up that LED is nothing. Website, shipping from China even taking those pics cost more.. The only thing i know is that they make money :) Anyways if i had time, i would design/build my own LEDs and send them to you for free..

you would be suprised, its also not just the led's its the resistors, placement, and gtting it right. and although its not new new technology, its certainly much newer then a halogen bulb, so you pay more, plus your getting say 24 lights instead of 1, so 24x as much would make logical sense

  2. Did you adjust advacement puposely or it is wrong t-belt instalation?

F..k premium. Since the gas prices are high, i am putting mid and it is pretty good.. Weather is 50-60F (10-15C) here. So no need for premium..

Well then.... seems we need an accomplice in Arlington to effect a visit... since BHR seems to be the closest and most effective... step up to the plate.

Side note, Ren and I check the timing on my car last night and I am advanced 14 degrees :shifty: Yes I still have to get a second emissions check since burning the Mid Grade, just haven't had the time. Also we figured out how to disable the DRLs to save the HIDs during daylight hours. But I need to polish my lens covers, as winter has been rougn on them :(

  3. Not at all. Prolly they are automatically soldered. Even manual, these are not soldered in US and in China average technician salary for this job is say couple hundred bucks per year.. I couldnt see anything, including labor in that assembly that costs more than a cent.. Maybe shipping from china is more than building the whole thing.. And i do my own pcb (printed circuit board) and soldering in my occupation..

the led's themselfs are very cheap to produce, but its very expensive to soder them all together to tight center point and then get that wired into an automotive base

  4. Which two progs?

Messenger discovery is an add-on for msn live. You have to install msn live first. It is better than bare msn if you like having more features. You can see who goes offline, who opened a conv. with you, who closed the conv window, imitate the guy while chatting, bla bla..

Messenger.... there are two different progs

  5. Poor MTS...

    1. NDD

Next Day Depression. Typically used to define the feeling that one has the morning after a long night of drinking and perhaps some ill timed decisions. For males, that means fucking that fat chick. For chicks, that means being a slut and kissing 5 of your boyfriend's friends. Usually accompanied by a overwhelming sense of apathy and refusal to step out of your room for fear of someone seeing you who knows what you did the previous night.

    "Where's Jim at?"

"Oh he stayed in...bad case of NDD."

"Dear teacher: I did not get your paper done on time becuase instead of doing it on Sunday like I should have, I sat under the covers of my bed dealing with a serious case of NDD."

    WTF is NDD?

  6. Those 24 LED ones are prolly crappy small round ones (I have the same). But high power ones seem as bright as or brighter than incandescents.. SMTs are good as well..

Sorry trout, have to disagree. I just put 24 led bulbs in my reverse lights, they came out even faster. Those were about 1/3 as bright as normal incandescents. For interior lighting they're fantastic, anything outside of the car (liscence plate lights excluded) and they're garbage (from my experience).

  7. When it is cold outside any internal combustion engine car (that covers all cars except electric ones) will smoke for sometime. So I dont worry about the smoke when cold outside..

Just happens to remind me. My Milly tends to smoke more when it is colder. I would say it is particuarly noticable when I am driving at night and a car is behind me (when I am stopped at the lights). During day-lit driving when it is warmer there is no smoke. I didn't really look at other cars around me, although I just thought it looked noticable in my back window.

Sooner or later I will opt for either a replacement engine or supercharger, but is there anything I can do at the moment to reduce/stop the smoking on start-up and running when it is colder outside.

  8. Did you ever clean the headlights from inside?

Hope you didnt put iridium ix crap..

School is finally out. So far i spent my days off last week doing my first paint maintenance. Wash, detar and debug, clay bar, paint cleaner, and one coat of wax. She looks immaculate unless you are 6 inches away and looking for paint chips. My chrome wheels are about shot, it's pretty much damage reduction until I can get enough cash together for my PIAAs. I got a rough job done on running the wiring to my 1 farad cap, power and ground distribution blocks, and getting both the 4 channel amp and mono amp in position. I also traded out my Sirius radio setup for a Zune, much happier.

Tomorrow I'm getting the windows tinted with Quantum film, no dye, lifetime warranty, probably 20% light pass on all windows. I'm also heading over to Home Depot to pick up some plywood to serve as the amp rack and cap holder, and also some fiberboard to build the false wall and floor. I bought the carpet a couple months ago, so my trunk setup will be done. I still need to relocate the tweeters to a custom mount near the kickpanels, but my dumb ass threw away the alternate mounting hardware, so I'll need to call Infinity tomorrow to see what the damage is on a new set.

Notwithstanding whatever the big mechanical issue with the engine is (or how I'm gonna pay for it), I'm pretty happy with my cars progress.

  9. I guess not on the plugs, outside of the coil boot. I had a slight oil on them. Dont know how much is much.. If there is too much oil there, it will start misfiring..

And BHR are you sure if it is oil or dust on the alternator? It is possible that the magnetic field of the alt can attract some dust on to it.. And my engine is fully covered with a thin layer of greasy mud..

plugs were changed about 9k ago and there was no oil on them at all, rear plugs had some slight grime film, but they were just worn out...damn champions. I'm really wondering where thisoil came from. I can find zero leaks, even ran my finger around in places I couldn't see and found nothing, but hte alt, and only the alt has a coat of oil on it

  10. So how did you see the smoke? Could you see it from inside or you go out? Maybe the weather, how about other cars? Mine smoked in the weekend i looked around and everyone was smoking..

Getting the magic smoke during cold start now :(. Either way is bad, I don't have the tools for top end engine repair, and a supercharger at a minimum is 1800. Two of my plugs were fouled when i changed them over, and when i cleaned the intercoolers I just had a thin film, so maybe the supercharger is still going (for now). Anyone have any tips for me to look for to correctly diagnose? No CELs as of yet btw.

  11. On 01, the inners have clear plastic but outers are blurry. BHR, have you tried a straight-out LED on outers? It may work..

indeed, which is why a tower design should be the only ones allowed to be sold. A dim tower will far surpass even a 3w head on led's in lighting focus and overall driver recognition
