from reading he picked it up from a scrapyard for less than $500 then went to work on it. So its current condition was most probably due to its previous care. The sound is due to parts of the exhaust system not being connected back up yet.
-
how much will you sell it for?
my car?
All of that has already been taken care of and it's passed through my possession :/
sorry
bhr, I realize there are quite a few m3's and look-a-likes, but out of all the cars i've drove so far bmws just feels right to me. Last one I one to try out was a z4 m, been in the new E92 m3 and love the 6 speed version but thats going to be way out of my range financially.
-
Possibly, I'll see what I can find in a year that has reasonable miles.
An E46 m3 would probably be my top choice but I plan on looking into the millenia again.
-
I don't know :/
Well, thank you all for taking the time to answer a lot of my questions and help with stuff over the last year or so.
The plan is to get a new/newer car after a year.

well I filled the car back up with oil then drove it to the mechanic which was about 6 miles away, then he ran it some while checking it out, then I ran it shortly this morning.
all in that time it didn't lose any oil...
-
back to the car today;
ran it for a little while and saw no oil whatsoever dripping, no burning either.
All the oil I filled up when I saw the car had gone dry is still there(pitch black now)
When I opened the hood on hearing the grinding noises there was a very light layer of oil on the back of the front bank with negligible burning(never there before)- this wasn't there either.
-
could something have happened internally that would cause the oil to be burnt rapidly?
I'm sorry that I can't say too much more but I'll update when I get back to the car if you'd like.
-
It normally holds oil just fine, suddenly on a drive yesterday morning it went bone dry which is when the noises and problems started. Right when I heard the stuff I stopped then checked the oil and refilled with about 4 quarts
pre it suddenly running dry the oil level had always been pretty consistent and at a good level last I checked.
-
it was near full the last time I checked it. I had to put in about 4 quarts to fill it back up.
The temp gauge also stayed normal.
The car is sitting at the garage atm since it's not drivable.
-
I had it checked out and the mechanic said it probably has some bad internal problems.
When its running it sounds like heavy metal grinding and as if metal bits are falling off and being thrown around; this is from the center of the engine.
The oil light bulb does work, no idea why it didn't come on
-
that is a bit of a downer :/
-
I wasn't planning on keeping a car 1st year in college so probably a sell as is.
The oil light didn't come on at any point :/
-
Check every 1-2 weeks since it's an old car.
No oil at all I don't think it's the drain plug or anything normal because I filled it back up with oil as soon as I pulled over and saw it dry and it's all still there.
Right now I think the engine suffered some damage because even filled up it was cutting out in the parking lot and had a hard start with lots of horrible grinding noises ect.
and it's a 2.5

Driving this morning and heard a grinding/ticking noise from the engine... stopped and saw that there's no oil at all... by then the engine had already taken damage...
I have no idea what happened. I check the oil regularly and it doesn't burn much or drip any oil so it suddenly decided to take a huge dump this morning Also, no warning lights whatsoever came on which puzzles me a bit...
Not sure what to do next. Being a 95 it has a really low value even when running
-
alright, thanks. Yeah i've got alot of downtime this summer so I wanted to go ahead and do this since i've been thinking about it for sometime.
so start with something like 100 grit and work up higher?
-
I meant to remove the lines and bends on the inside of the plastic to give it a clean transparent view into the housing. The plastic on my lights is still clear, no yellow-ing.
-
I saw some pictures of the car that mts got his headlights off of and a little bit on how they were done.
Would wet-sanding the inside of 95/96 lights to give it a clearer look without doing the 3 lens retrofit be practical or just completely throw off the light output for the corner light and high beams?
If it does sound okay, what all would go into doing this? Thank you.

Saw 4 other millenias today... almost never happens... the one with the spoiler looked badly out of place...
-
How did you decided the millenia was the car for you before buying?
-
yeah you all were right. Thanks for the input.
ended up being $90 :/

165,000 miles. I'm not sure specifically where it was leaking from. I couldn't see :/ since it seemed like the area it was coming from was kinda recessed in the engine bay.. but somewhere in the back right.
I should know for sure tomorrow. I'm having my mechanic check it out to be safe.
-
mmm alright thanks guys. I know I've been losing a very very little amount of coolant taking months to really even be noticeable...
-
Yesterday driving home I saw smoke coming out of the hood, temp gauge rise to 3/4.
Parked and soon after theres a huge puddle of coolant on the road, tank is almost empty. While this is happening I can hear a hissing sound from the back right of the engine bay and see some coolant spraying out from the engine.
I couldn't see where it's coming from... but are there any hoses running in the back right of a 2.5 that are out of easy view... or is this possibly a gasket problem?
I'm having it taken and checked out tomorrow, but do you all have any info/guesses?
-
it kinda happens randomly for the most part... and on higher speed turns...
I took the wheel off, tested a few things and I'm 99% sure its the lateral link.
Oddly enough it stopped making the sound yesterday...

I don't think the millenia L or S qualifies with its mpg
