  1. It's been a while since I posted because my milly has been down. Now after another engine and supercharger my milly is up and runnin better than ever. Just thought I would share. Now I have flashin ce lite. Cyl #4 is the rear middle one? I have a coil already to replace that old with. Also my mechanic said my suspension is f-upped. Besides that I'm happy. At least it's back runnin.

  2. the easy test to see if its a motor/tranny mount is to open the hood....then start the milly....put her in gear and and rev the motor with your foot hard on the brake....try it in rev and drive...if you see some major movement up or down on the motor then the mount(s) are broken.....It'll lift from the front of back of the motor....I've seen one lift almost 2 inches.....

i got the same problem. after i had my motor swapped i had all my mounts changed but it shakes bad until i get up more speed. besides that, my supercharger is done. thank god i got another one just have to save up the $ to put it on. it's really slow for the rental car season right now. i barely work.

  3. As long as there is no internal damage, just get someone to put on a new belt. It will probably cost less than a quarter of the cost of a rebuild, especially since you would have to do the timing belt job in the rebuild. It is non-interference, there will be no damage from the belt breaking or slipping alone. The only way you would need a rebuild or used engine is if something else happened and caused the belt to break/slip, but that is very unlikely.

    k. thanks for the helpful info. it kinda cooled me down.

  4. I agree with matt.

Did you ever check the oil?

It wasn't over heating or anything right?

naw. everything else was okay. all the mazda dealer said was that the timing belt broke or popped(which ever) and that it casued the engine 2 lock up.

If you mean lock up as in the crankshaft won't turn, than something else caused this and probably means catastrophic engine failure, and caused the belt to break/skip. In that case, new car or new engine is the most sensible option. If the belt just broke or skipped teeth, that would cause it to not start and everything else is perfectly fine, you just need to replace the belt and it will run fine again, they have timing belt kits on ebay that are reasonably priced. Supposedly they are good quality from the comments of other forum members, and some even include the water pump.

i'll think about it. just spent 800 for the vcg's couple weeks ago. cheapest i found for the timing belt is around 500. also just put a passenger side axle on. $308 at pepoys.

  5. forgot to put oil in the car...are you joking me

more importantly why didn't the oil light come on as soon as you started it up at the dealer

So far I'm havin no bad problems yet wit tha dealer. My step dad had a truck so we rented a dolley frum uhaul and took it back ourselves. If it get 2 the point where mazda is gonna get 2 bein assholes I'll just get my lawyer. Not gonna argue with them becuz sumthem they did. As for the oil lite idk y It didn't come on. I know quite a few of my lites don't work like washer fluid, battery, coolant, oil just 2 name a few.

  6. Status?

Just looked over tha engine 2 day 4 any unplugged parts. I found 1 that was unhooked on tha maf sensor. That's it. Tried startin it again and it still resets tha clock everytime I try 2 start. I believe it's gotta b sumthen electrical. All power still works just not start. The click sounds it makes sounds like it's comin frum tha starter but I doubt and everybody else thinks well know dat it won't turn off tha car. My income tax should arrive anyday now. I'll go buy a meter 2 test battery, alternator, etc. I hate tha fact that my baby just sits there.

Took the car back 2 mazda tuesday. They said they were gonna call me wednesday. They haven't. When I took it back my advisor looked really, really nervous. Even stuttered a lil bit. I think the realized that they forgot 2 put oil back in my car after repairin it. This sunday will make 3 weeks since it's been driven.

  8. Incorrect, as soon as I put the cluster back all was well again.

ML, you can test the alternator and battery yourself with a multimeter to at least rule them out as possibilities.

Got anotha possibility. I heard if there wasn't enough oil the engine could have locked up? When I got tha car frum mazda after they repaired tha vcg's and vac tee's and it locked up because there was not enough oil,it's mazda's fault rite??? I hope it's not locked. I'm seriously nervous and scared. What should I do? I know when I come up with tha money 2 have it towed I'm takin it back 2 them asap. I can't believe this is happening 2 me!

  9. I invite Latino Pikachu's commentary.

I did have similar symptoms when my charging system stuffed up, the battery of course drained during normal driving and soon there wasn't enough power to start it again, resulting in the 'relay click' sound.

In my case it was due to some funny wiring issue that meant the alternator wasn't working properly due to the instrument cluster not being in the car (!)...

In other words the fish messed up the cluster and broke the alternator :)

Sum local mechanics is tellin me a sensor box????

  10. .Did it just click again? How are the gauges and other dash lights? Do they light up at all? Is there a difference when you hook it up to another car? If your battery terminals are corroded you wont get a good connection to the starter...

If all the lights are good and the starter just "clicks" try turning the crank with a wrench...if it moves and all the electrical is good the starter is bad. If the crank won't rotate then you threw a rod or broke the crank....this happened to my 350 V8 Saburban....had to replce the motor....was driving on the freeway and the motor died.....pulled over and wouldnt crank, couldn't even turn the crank with a wrench once the motor was removed from the truck either.....seized up REALLY good

Your scarin the hell outta me!

  11. My vote is for jump as well.. Did you tow it?

Tried jumpin it twice. I unhooked the battery and let it sit. What else can I do? I mean it won't start period. Now I gotta get a front end tow thingy and drag it back. Tha cheapest quote I got was 500 plus. Tha car is around 50 miles frum my crib. Dats y. Also when I got tha car back from tha dealer my tcs lights were on. They said it was nothin and drive it around for the weekend and bring it back monday. Could it have sumthen 2 do with that? Vac leak or sumthen? I hear a hissin sound again but it's comin frum tha back this time.

  12. Alright thanks a lot guys, I figured it is alright but just wanted to make sure!

I heard it could mess up your pistons and/or your piston rings? My sensor is gone 2. I dread 2 drive the car cuz of the noise and the performance. Gettin replaced in a few weeks. I tried fillin it up with 93 and fuel injector cleaner but still no luck. U should get it fixed when u can just 2 b safe and so your car can have power on take off and a steady idle.

  13. I haven't replaced any on the millenia, but the part is around 50-170, depending on brand etc

if you have just a misfire switch the coils first, if you don't have a code for the knock sensor then they should be fine

    K. Thanks for tha input.
