I don't know where to get Omega 917 in the U.S.. I found Lucas oil stop leak and a product called Restore. Does anyone know a good product in the U.S. stores I can try and restore the valve seals with? At this point I have nothing to lose.

We're talking about a cloud of blue smoke that would make an officer of the Bay Area Air Resouces Board gasp in horror.

Before I put a used supercharger in my 99 Millenia S, it smoked on startup, AND after idle for 2 minutes or more. I found what I believe to be a good supercharger and put it in. This solved the smoke after idle, but not smoke on startup (to my utter dismay). I got the whole homeowners association on my case for that, so I'm not going to run out and take off the heads. Looking back at the mechanics notes from the previous owner, they said:
Performed inspection, found valve seals leaking. Customer informed engine needs to be torn down for inspection and cylinder heads sent out for inspection. Customer informed repairs might exceed value of the car.
let me say the car runs like showroom after the startup smoke goes away. When I inspect the CAC, I find oil throughout. My question is, if the valve seals leak oil, how would it end up in the CAC? Is this some sort of Miller Cycle magic?

The Nazis should come back just to destroy that car

Solved the 1540 code problem. It was a disconnected vacuum hose going to one of the solenoids above the right bank spark plugs. I couldn't see it until I took the CAC assembly off. Shored up some other vacuum leaks while I was at it. Same solution as someone else had. Bottom line: if you work on your S and then get a 1540 code, check the vacuum lines near the solenoids.

If the clamps are all lined up, it coud lead to an airleak...
Which leads me back to my 1540 code problem. What would an air leak here do?

In my manual for a 99 Millenia S - "Air Intake System" - it has this installation note about the air coolers. I am trying to solve this P1540 code problem (I've seen the other posts), and it talks about orienting the "air hose" (btwn cooler and alum. CAC) clamps at a precise angle. I can't figure out what they mean. Its marked 60 and 125 degrees for A,B, and C clamps etc. I remember moving the clamps so they were easier to get to. I rotated them from facing the rear of the car to sticking up straight. Is this important? Could this cause a 1540 code?

I checked the manual and it does not say anything about applying sealant. I assumed the stuff was put on there from the factory - do you think this means the S/C was replaced before (103K mi. on it now). Barring any new information, I'll be going without a sealant. Thanks.

Taking off the old gaskets on the throttle body / supercharger, there was a flexible gray sealant on the surfaces. What is best to use to replace this when I reassemble? I searched the web, and came across "gasgacinch", "hylomar", and "hi-tack".

OK, I loaded up with TWO products from AutoZone that are supposed to revive seals. I'm gonna dump them both in there after draining some of the oil to make room. ONe is Bars' Rear Main Seal Repair and the other is NoLeak Engine Oil Treatment. If this stuff works, I'm going to start drinking it for breakfast.
