  1. I don't think the name matters, all it takes is building proper cars for a period of time. One example: Audi. They built piece of shit cars untill early nineties. Now they have a very strong pedigree. The fact that I still regard them as shitty cars isn't that interesting, the majority of buyers find them attractive as a premium brand. Not to mention Skoda; here in Europe they were in Lada territory, look at Skoda now. Up there competing with any brand in the market, part from the premium brands of course.

good point years ago, i thought volvos were made for 60yr old granny. Now i would give a kidney for a new S40... I guess if the cars had evolved the name would have followed...

  2. I think the MCE was wonderful idea for the time it came out. But Mazda stop growing. They had the affordable luxory market down with the 929 and milly. But they just stopped there way back in 95. No real changes. I like the 01-02 bodies (relative to same year competition) but both engines suck. If mazda had stayed on their game, i see no reason they couldnt be where lexus or infinit is. They could just rebadge a milly with a name other than mazda (jus cuzz mazda sounds plain) and add 25% to the cost....

  3. Quick update, change oil, dropped tranny pan fluid and filters, air filter, and spark plugs. Still had CEL light, got the OBDII out again and the only code left was the knock sensor one. I manuallly cleared that one out rode around for an hour or so everything was perfect. I guess while the car was sitting the plug corroded or maybe i knocked #6 wire loose while i was unhooking the battery. All the plugs were evenly worn so i dont think there was any damage done. I had the on duty mechanic verify and he said all the plugs looked good.

  4. what size tires did u have on the 18's?

go air and mad camber... problem solved

I seen pics of that before and it looks like ass, plus my car is a driver not a parking lot queen...

  5. save the whoring till after the milly's fixed pls.

Ren i also read that the EGR valve could be stuck and causes the fuel to go lean and stall out at idle. Would the EGR throw its own code ? The cars going on the rack to day for air filter, plugs, tranny flush and oil change. Ill ohm out the wires. If that doesnt work, ill look into the EGR and compression tests. What otehr places can i look for vacuum leaks ?

  6. How can i determine if its a bad coil or bad plug. The guy at Autozone told me the same thing. That it could be sumn causing that plug not to fire correctly.... Which plug is the #6 anyway. I have the 2.5L btw.... Dont take offense MTS, its just ren is the guy that i see peeking in to the technical posts. And he's done the most milly engine work that ive seen. Thanks for yoru response...

  7. I been having problems with my milly idling at stop lights since she got back on the road. Sometimes i have to throw it in neutral and gas it to keep it from dying. I thought maybe the gas had went bad from sitting for 8mnths or so. I put that engine treatment stuff in and it works fine then. But when it runs off regular gas (even the good stuff), i still have the same problems a tank and half later. I went to autozone and they let me use the reader. heres the codes...

    1) P0306 Cyl #6 Misfire

    2) P0325 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 or #1 Sensor

    3) P1170 Manufacturer Fuel Air Metering

    4) P1173 Manufacturer Fuel Air Metering

I was thinking change the spark plugs, but it may be more to it....

  8. I had a nice list of mods that i was gone post up to show the new milly. One (the biggest) went sour. I put the new 19's today and my milly looks like mini monster truck. I dont think it will grow on me either. the new tire made the milly sit about .5 inch higher. But the old ones sit a lil lower than stock. So my rational was, even with the new tires it would still sit at or near stock height. Well i dont like it. I just want to bring it down about 3/4 of an inch. Somebody show me the way. Cuzz now all i can think about is a blow torch to the springs...

On second thought, i think i will go with springs, the system will have to wait. For some reason i was thinking eibachs brought a 2.5 inch drop. I think i can get away with a 1.4 drop. Theres 2.5 inches between the wheel and the car upfront and 2.75 outback. How much play should i have for suspension travel ???? Also who has installed springs before? I have access to the compressors, lifts, etc. I just need info...

  9. Ive seen alot of sub systems. Some have them placed towards the rear of the seat, some faced up at the trunklid, rear, even down firing. I think these are just for looks. Im trying to get a simple set up, just 2 Alpine 10's in sealed box. Which way to get the best sound ???
