speakin of hids, who all has hard wired there's into the milly with the relay kit and how did u do it... I think bhr did one for malice way back in the day. But a search for them with "HID" would pull up most of their posts prolly...
-
I was looking for McCullochs kit myself but they wanted 365+ (if memory serves) and only a year warranty. The japs had a 2 year warranty for 150. Given each product dies the day after warranty the japs is still the best deal....

last question, what offset are you running to push the lip of the rim to the fender well or slightly inboard, not outboard. The tire rack comp doesnt have the fitment for the milly since its old, so i have to make them get me the right set.
-
yeah 225/40's were my 1st choice, but my rims now are 18x8's. If i were to put the wheel between my knees and look straight down i can see the lip of the wheel. I dont think the tires protect enough width wise. The rims i am wanting to get are 19 x 8.5's so i dont think they will help at all even though most sites say 225's will fit an 8.5, i would like a little more coverage. This is the last set of wheels im puttin on the milly, so i want to do it right this time, i have a new project to waste my money on

thanks bhr for the response, my car isnt lowered, ill keep it stock height. I do have rims now, but they are scuffed plus its time for tires. I think its a good reason to get rid of these and try to class the milly up a lil with a new set. Itll be part of my welcome home package after 8mnths of neglecting her. U put the 2" corksport springs on yours. Even with the drop you dont rub ? Im not worried about the speedo, as long as its close. My main concern is rubbing.

Greetings from a far MW, I will be back in the real world in a number of days. Im in the final stages of planning for my milly makeover. But i have a question whats the largest tire i can put on a 19 with no rubbing. Most sites are saying 225/35/19, but using this calc i found below. This size actually has a slightly smaller diameter than the original 215/55/16. I was really hoping for 235/40/19 or atleast 225/40/19 to protect the rim and give me the best possible ride. Who has 19's and what size tire you got ? Post a pic too, i would like to see if the rim is overwhelming or taking looks from the car. Please dont whore this topic cuzz im still overseas and the internet here is like a 14k dial up or sumn. I have to disable all pics just to visit this site and it still takes like 10 mins per page. Thanks ahead MW, ill get some pics of the final product asap...

looks like a retro 350z with the top cut out. i dont think its a car i would pay for. But i would like to have one for the "look what i got"
-
you must be going away for a 7 month deployment?
sumn like that
make sure to jack it up a lil and rest on jacks
yeah i cleaned her up and waxed her twice this past weekend. I dont know if ill go with blocks for stability or jacks. I can get the jacks for free, but i dont one of the jacks to slip while im doing the other wheel. I think ill leave the tank full, maybe the fuel will keep it from rusting. Other than that, i think thats the best i can do.

Well sunday is the day. My milly is retiring to a minimum of 7 months slumber Theres absolutely nothing i can do about it, but I assure you, i have been planning for months on how to make it up to her when we reunite.

what the fukk is the storage bin. i just got cargo net with my 02, to keep shit from rolling in the trunk... I would like to see this install though...
-
which combo has the largest outside diameter? 225/40/18 or 235/35/19 also will 235/40/19 fit on the milly for a smoother ride ?
-
did you have the chromed scuff plates, you mentioned doorsills...

success, heres my diagnosis for future reference if youre interested:
The switch has a memory in it to remember the last postion of the wheel. That way it does the opposite for the next use. Mine wouldnt work cuzz it was thinking the wheel was down, when it was really up. Fix? I just took the motor off (i left the power cord connected), turned auto on, then removed the key, and allowed it to act as if it were taking the wheel up (my wheel was stuck up). Then bolted the motor back up, and put the key in, Good as new !!!
If your wheel is stuck down, you want to let the motor cycle down. If its in the middle, i guess your fukked
But there's no way for me to test it without removing the motor again, blah blah which is a risk i dont wanna take, but its definitely worth trying before you spend the $$$ on a new motor like i did or taking it to the stealer and giving up your first born...
-
yeah, but i wanna keep it. ill prolly put the old one on ebay or sumn. I took it apart cleaned and grease it. It seems fine now....
Back on topic:
Im thinking maybe theres a locking mechanism (other than the motor) that holds the column in place for safety reasons. Cuzz if the motor was just too weak or column not greased, the it should break loose when i pull on it while activating the switch. Im a decent sized guy (200-210) and it doesnt budge. Does anybody have a millenia service manual. Repairs have halted due to the mid-day heat, but they will resume later. Any help is greatly appreciated...
-
dammit, it didnt work. I put the new motor in and it did the same damn thing. Click, then nothing. The motor works its just not pulling. Has anybody ever taken the lower dash out ? I dont wanna lay upside down all day fixing this thing...
-
lets start with gettin cardomain to spell millenia right...
-
damn...$280?!? i guess that was to install it too huh?
na 280 was just for the part and they wanted me to turn in the old one. I didnt even think dealers did core turn ins. but i never buy from them...
-
Na MazCaddi, its off warranty now. The dealer wanted $280 and i had to wait a week. I found one on ebay for 50 that i passed on. Found it new online for 116, spent a lil extra on overnight for $150 total. I used to keep mine on 24/7. I never held on to it, but it started jerking alil so i could tell the motor was going. Then i took it off auto. I guess it just took its last breathe. It still spins though when its off. Its just not strong enough to handle the column weight i guess. The new one will stay off and used only when necessay or occaisonal showing off thanks mw...

na it looks easy if i only have to change the motor, four screws but they are in tough spot. But if someone knows the location of this hidden screw, PLEASE point me in the right direction. Im traveling for the next 10 days ors so, this shit aint cool :( Ill give ebay a shot, id rather not get one from the junk yard, cuzz i wanna do it right one time only... thanks for the quick response bhr

I know the isssue of the milly steering whell motor is a popular one, did we figure the best way to deal with it. I let mine up last night, i ended up sleeping in the car. Without thinking i let the wheel up. Now its stuck there. Whats the cheapest place to get the motor. I took the thing apart and theres no manual release or nuthing that i saw. I looked on trademotion and they only sell the whole assemby. How can i get just the motor. Or even just get it to the down position so i can finish my trip in comfort. I dont want to deal with the stealer and have them charge me an arm and an asshole.... HELP
