  1. xedos - you are aware that ariel is a british company correct?

It's all about power to weight ratio, nothing more.

The Ariel Atom is about a whole lot more than power to weight ratio. It can go fast around a track. I don't see that improved with a V8. On the contrary. And it already has a good power to weight ratio. We're talking motorcycle territory.

  2. My Xedos has coped with the sunlight, the only thing I can point out is that the leather on top of the back seat, towards the deck isn't as soft to touch as the rest of the areas. Part from that the interior is decent, just normal wear and tear for a 200k km car.

The fender damage was caused by a female member of my family. Nuff said. When I think about it, rather too much said :whistling:

  3. It never struck my mind sunlight filtered through glass could be harmful to a vehicle as long as temperature doesn't get beyond hot...

I'm pleased I was able to even wash my car properly before storage now that the Bimmer is officially running again. I'm however not pleased with the fender damage while the Bimmer was officially a nonrunner. Maybe I can send a claim to BMW in Germany to cover the expenses?

  4. I have only one cat. No issues so far, currently 200k km. Here we have state inspection every second year (approved shops can do it as well). Either it passes for emissions and other things, or it doesn't. I don't think 200k should be any problem at all for the cats. Possibly every other O2 sensor but that is also rare here, as long as there are no other engine issues. As far as I'm concerned, these parts should last the car out with normal maintenance. The exhaust should smell next to nothing when the engine is warm, that is my personal emission test :)

  5. Update: In the progress of testing out damper settings, starting from soft and steps of three. I can verify 45 mm lowering works reasonably well, with the front subframe just touching the tarmac on severe bumps. I can easily pass speedbumps above legal speed without issues, admittedly with less floating experience than the stock struts though. The ride is extremely flat in curves; hardly no roll at all :D

Anyone interested in a writeup how to extend the rear adjustment through the deck? I've got it all figured out, just need to take some pics :)
