I heard that BHR went north to fulfill the prophecy.

The years continue to pass, yet like BHR the Millenia exists outside of time thanks to its capsule.
18 years of near constant use now. The plastic is still pliable though impossible to clean to be clear. I added a 2nd one and side by side you can really tell where dust and grime over the years have become embedded - yet the car is still perfect.
As stated earlier I've replaced the power supply and fan. Only fan failed. Filter gets cleaned every other year and seems to still be holding up on the interior. Exterior capsule the filters have become a bit more brittle and need to be replaced after 6 years or only being used Nov through Apr.
I'll still caution people, these are NOT for daily use and I think after over 25 years the company has finally admitted this. They are difficult to put on and off especially with suv's. 2 people makes a huge difference. Paint damage is still top concern, no matter what, the surface will get dust/dirt/grit on it and if pulling over the surface you'll damage it and I refuse to just "buff and cut" What works for me is a very soft interior only cover being put on first, then the capsule being rolled over top.
The protection and peace of mind is worth every penny. I don't worry about a thing. After a bad year with mice getting into 2 other cars it's a relief to not worry about much more rare cars.

Maybe a bump? now at 15 years. I've added an outdoor capsule for the Jeep WL during winter months.
In the past 5 years I had to replace the power supply as the plastic cracked and it wanted to spark, more my fault really. A single fan needed replacement but this could have been due to running it a season without a filter - The new design filters are only good for a few years, old ones were much better.
What I will say is the indoor capsule has yellowed in a few places but all the dust and grime that floats in the air is starting to be noticeable. I tried pressure washing the outdoor capsule with only mixed results. Still does its job
I cannot stress this enough, I highly recommend putting a car cover over the car FIRST and then the capsule. You can remove cover if needed but it goes a long way in protecting paint during covering/uncovering.

Well well well. It's done.
Thanksgiving 2019 I finished the silver Millenia, and 2 weeks ago I finally did the black Millenia. Very rare to have it out of storage, good weather, and the time. Whats interesting is how different it was. The silver Millenia clearly had someone in their before with 2 lines crossed and just different routing. I didn't really notice until I did the black millenia which was much tighter, all clips still intact etc. Had the whole thing done in about 4 hours, wasn't rushing but went smooth. Should now be good for 30-50 years more

*Sigh*.....Well, I never got around to it in 2014, 2015/16 was a very busy year for me, lots of changes, 17 was just a holding pattern, 18 settling down etc.
Now it's late fall 2019 and Black Millenia has only done maybe 800 miles since 2014 post, vacuum lines not done
BUT - plan is to do vacuum lines on Silver millenia over thanksgiving

After much searching....
A 2002 S, Silver on gray, 64k original miles, garage by older gentleman who traveled alot. Downside is it does not have stock rims, mirrors need paint - but otherwise excellent condition free from ghetto rats. Arriving by transport truck this weekend.
-
Sounds like a vacuum issue. Vacuum line replacement was a common upgrade when these cars hit about 5-10 years old. You need about 32 feet of silicone hose to do it all.
-
Yes, Yes we did - and again this morning.
-
Dangerous. You need something soft. A wiper blade is able to grind bits of dust into glass. Microfiber towel, folded and surface sprayed with a drying agent or lubricant (Such as AMMO hydrate is best)
-
Has anyone had this issue? if anyone still has Millenia they take to dealership?
I haven't been in probably a solid 10 years as there was no reason, I do mostly all my own maintenance and its not driven. BUT the valve cover gaskets have started to leak more then a few drops so its time to get that sorted out, possibly a leak on timing cover as well.
So I called up the dealer because they were the only ones I let work on it, which has been tranny flushes, 15/30/45k service etc, always handled by a senior tech.....so I call asking for a quote, get put on hold, and service advisor comes back to say they may not be able to perform service because "no current techs employed here are still certified on that model" and that "There could be issues ordering genuine Mazda parts" and finally "We don't even have the service manuals anymore"
Kind of annoyed I mention that I have a full factory service manual for the car I could let them borrow if they use it gentle and return. Service advisor says they will certainly do their best but it may take much longer then normal in case of parts issues etc. Couldn't even get me a quote because it wasn't in their system.

I guess the first question is what kind of noise is it making? grinding, clunking, chipping?
Could be CV axle clicking while turning, could be a dust shield just got bent a bit, need more info

Yes sir

What would cause lack of backlighting in gauge and a/c unit but no other issues what so ever (I got wires crossed with Bluetooth add in install)
Confirmed bulbs are good, all of cluster works except back lighting. Headlight switch works without issue
I'm guessing dimmer switch as I know the backlighting will not work with it disconnected. Any other ideas before some benjamins immigrate away from my wallet??

Ideally, I could find a low mileage millenia with a single critical flaw to harvest parts from - but that would be wrong.

www.carcapsule.com
I have a CC18 which gives plenty of room for the Millenia. They make bigger and smaller sizes, an outdoor reflective version etc. A high end custom cover is around 300-350, an oem cover for a higher end car can be around 500, so it is still a good deal.
If you have a something you plan on driving very rarely but want to keep in perfect condition without access to a museum - this is the way to go.
-
I suppose an update, for the first time in 10 years the capsule no longer holds the Millenia. It has been moved to a special climate control storage area as it's possible I may only get 1 drive per year in it.
The capsule now holds the RS4

Details coming together, grab a spot.
Jetaway can share a room with me.

Since a MWM yes, which is why we must have one

2016 will mark 10 years of MW.net To celebrate we should have some sort of epic meet.
Date: Aug 25th - 27th
Location: Ocean City Md
That is Thursday - Saturday. People likely getting in late thursday night and then leaving sat or staying extra night to leave sunday morning.
-
Well well, In just 3 more weeks MW.net will have its 10 year anniversary....
That being said, I'v had the Millenia in a carcapsule for 10 years now, some people have asked about it over the years so here's what you need to know.
Pro's -
Keeps the Millenia spotless and clean, not a spec of dust or single inspect since its positively pressurized.
Removed moisture from air
Set it and forget it, zero maintenance required
Material has held up very well, no rips, tears or sign of degrading materials
Has prevented damage to car by falling objects from earthquake
Far superior to even a high end custom cover
Con's -
Not very easy to get on and off, have had to buff mirrors and rear spoiler where it's rubbed paint
Fan went out around the 7 year mark, ordered a replacement and it has been fine since
Zippers, possibly biggest complaint is the poor quality zippers and how hard it is to seal up. Have ripped apart several of these and 1 zipper currently damaged to where I cannot open capsule.
Yellowed/faded/cloudy. Not really possible to clean and once its dirty it just stays that way. Used in a windowless garage yet still shows fading.
Being hard to get on and off it's annoying if you want to do work on vehicle
Overall, possibly the single best investment I'v made for any vehicle, ever. So if you've been on the fence for the past 10 years, go get one.

A search of ebay yielded a single 01 2.5. only 4 on craigslist. Almost never an S shows up. What does come up has just been trashed by ghetto rats.
I saw an 01-02 silver S w/gray interior in a parking lot the other day. Aftermarket pep boys rims, rust, disgusting interior
-
Been looking to add to the fleet again. Only 1-2 for sale on ebay at a time, craigslist, even the paper very few. Rarely is it ever an S.
Looking for an 01-02 Silver S, gray interior, under 120k, some mechanical issues ok but must have no body issues/rust.

Millenia's have been clocked at 155. Though this was in the time before smartphones and GPS checking.

Hi there,
i have a 2003 Millenia with original Navigation.
Changed the battery and now it's asking CODE.
How do we type in code and what is standard code?
Thank you
ps: i don't have the user manual
There is no such thing as a 2003 Millenia, and the only factory systems were in Japan. However, because we've really only seen a single OEM system....no clue. I know with Audi you can go to a dealership who can find the code based on serial number on unit

More years pass, more capsules are added to the fleet. At current - I have 4. 2 indoor and 1 outdoor sued year round as well as a winter only outdoor cover.
As stated, they are not for daily use and having an interior, soft, light cover placed on first really is the final step in totally protecting vehicles. The outdoor one does get pretty dirty. Pressure washing helps but they aren't show pieces. For power the exterior ones have power supply inside unit so I've moved to this setup on interior as well using a computer APC. Just a cheap one for 50 bucks so I can run a single extension cord inside to power the fan as well as battery tender. The power draw is so low that I've been able to get almost 2 days of pressure during a power outage.
One of the interior ones holds my 95 Millenia which I consider ultra long term storage. No issues and I don't have to worry. The car is inside a capsule with an interior cover and then a harbor freight tarp over top the capsule as that garage has a window. Also helps keep it a bit clean. For whatever reason the plastic seems to just soak up dirt and grime then get that dirty sticky feeling like 1970's couch covers.
I still recommend after 20 years!!! and will keep buying them.
