The new BMW Hydrogen 7 is equipped with an internal combustion engine capable of running either on hydrogen or on gasoline and based on the BMW 7 series, the company said in a press release. ... The BMW Hydrogen 7 is powered by a 260-horsepower, 12-cylinder engine, with its top speed limited electronically to 230 kilometres per hour, the company said. The RX8 is down at 109 hp on hydrogen, less than half the output compared to petrol. The Saab 9-5 Biopower 2,0 turbo pushes 180 hp on ethanol (with 15% petrol mix), 150 hp on petrol. The reason is the ethanol is more resistent to detonations, allowing more charge pressure. They sell many Biopower versions now, understandable.
