Noob Still Hunting...

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Still searching for my 1st Milly. As most of you know I've been through 1 95 millyL for 3k and now continue my quest.

Can you give me an opinion from what you see on the following:

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/car/617141181.html

Not sure of the price is reasonable. Heck, for this price I can get myself a Ford Escape. What d o you think of the price and not sure if this is an S model. Will call but no idea.

Thanks.

-P.S

here's another one.

I wouldn't go with either, the white one looks like it was owned by a ghetto rat based on the rims, and the price is high.

there was a beautiful white 99 S on ebay a few days ago, something like 4300 I think.

Not a fan of the gold, and the mileage is alittle high, but its a 2000, well maintained and in NY

Yes I spoke to him and this car has a lien on it but will pay it once i buy it. lol

I've been going through craigslist and you have no idea how many scams their are. Not really on Milly's but on lots of cars because I can check when they reply via email and where they are writing from and some were from Africa or Germany. Incredible!!

. When the price is too good to believe- - it probably is.

I'm willing to go max at 5k. Some ebay ones i missed since i didn't have the $$ but now i do. I'm not able to go really out of nyc since work is too much at the moment so buying local or will take a chance on ebay once i can check vin #'s on carfax.

I like the tan one..only the carpet looks soiled in the back seats...i didn't really catch the front seats in the pictures...but everything else looks good on it...good price too, gah i wish i could have paid no more than 8 on mine but i ended up paying 11,032.93 but im glad, cause I got a one-owner, no problems, only 86,XXX miles.

thunder, a lien isn't exactly a scam, BUT I would avoid anything with a lien, repo etc, generally there in poor condition.

Millenia's are rare, thats one reason they are so prized, but craigslist is either hit or miss. I would stick to autotrader and ebay, MOST millenia's are on the east coast in the new york and new jersey area.

99 S - white

00 - 2.5 but looks good

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...&cardist=77

And of course, I would still recommend this one to you

Gold, eh, not great, and yes it has 125k, but looks to be in good shape. The only issues it might have later in life would be a belt, maybe a water pump in the next 40k or so.

I did look at that one BHR however the owner says their is a lien on it and promises to pay it so he won't ruin his credit. Funny thing is that he doesn't know that once their is a lien i don't get the title but the Bank does.

So that one is a total miss. :(

I never tried autotrader. Is it as good as ebay in a sense? At least with ebay I'm able to see their ratings to a point.

Any revious experience with them(auto trader)?

autotrader is good, its only cars though, not alot of private sellers, mostly dealers, plus it cost like 40 bucks to list a car, so there aren't scams, people have the car orthey don't, no feedback, but its a 1 time thing

Let me put it this way, I found my millenia on autotrader. Searching late at night it popped up when I hit reload, called instantly, some guy answered who said they just listed it and was about to go home, I put a deposit down before even seeing it. Granted it was a new car but still. I found my current Jeep on autotrader.

oh, you don't buy the car on there incase your wondering, its just a listing and you go and see, like the classifieds

are you sure it has a lien, what does carfax say?

it will say "checking lien records" in a basic search, that just means it searched for it, not that its there.

also no those rims are not from a millenia, not even rim. Every single millenia, in all versions in all countries had rims. not hub caps.

You could pick up a set of S rims for around 3-400 shipped.
