incorrect mts, I live extremely close to the 2nd largest mountain chain in north america. Only a 40 min drive or so from my house. Great views

They are nowhere near the altitude of the Rockies.... the Appalachians have been eroded from their once majestic glory... they are some of the oldest mountains that are now tree covered hills wink.gif Most do not even go past the treeline anymore... So you are incorrect.

I may have not been to one rock in the Appalachians, but I have toured the Rockies, the Alps, and the Pyrannies all major mountain ranges of astounding altitude.....

I concur the rockies are indeed bigger, but the apps are still the 2nd largest mountain chain in NA, and many peaks crust at 4-8k feet above see level., granted the rockies go to far greater, but still

But the Apps are the oldest in North America.... and therefore have be lowered in grandeur by millions of years of erosion

indeed, which is why there not as high as the rockies.

which reminds me, we should have this meet in late august or so before some members go back to school

unfortunately tho, hubby will be with me, so no meet for me. laugh.gif

he is not into cars, so don't even suggest that he come along too.

i will just have to satisfy myself with hearing about all the fun y'all had at the meet.
