///BHRpowered
Oh yes comrades. The legendary ariel atom is now for sale in the U.S AND...best of all its actually being built in virginia, as in about 80 miles from me. Prices pretty reasonable ranging from 49k to around 62 for fully loaded. The best part, a limited edition V8 is being planned.

///BHRpowered
Unknown, but a badass none the less, someone in a local Jeep forum has ordered one, Custom. Bare carbon fiber skin with copper wheels.

ing-schu@online.no
I'm sure a heavy ass V8 would fuck up the Ariel Atom concept big time, it would take an american to figure out such a disgrace. I'd rather install a catapult seat prior to taking that thing out in US traffic.
///BHRpowered
xedos - you are aware that ariel is a british company correct? It's all about power to weight ratio, nothing more.

The Ariel Atom is about a whole lot more than power to weight ratio. It can go fast around a track. I don't see that improved with a V8. On the contrary. And it already has a good power to weight ratio. We're talking motorcycle territory.

Troutman
Not sure if you guys are aware, but there is an Australian company that makes V8 Miatas. It's a better car than you'd think. Video:
///BHRpowered
xedos, an ariel has far more power to weight ratio then a bike, its closer to that of a gp2 car. Almost twice a veyron. And yes, a V8 adds very little weight but the power can be huge. Infact the difference in weight between a supercharged 6 cyl and a NA is probably a few pounds at best. The 0-60 time is what im interested in, its getting to the point where it cant go any faster unless they put an automatic in, humans just can't shift fast enough, Oh and drop the whole autos are slow thing because that hasn't been true in 25 years, I'd like to see even the STIG change gears in 60ms
