Removing Centre Console

I need to dismantle the centre console by the handbrake lever. Does anyone have any instructions on how to do this ?

I know there are a couple of screws in the bottom of the armrest compartment, might come loose by pulling back/upwards after taking them out. I'm sure someone will fill me in.

ON my 97 milly:

 

Lift the armrest up then left the bottom compartment for the armrest out (you may have to pry it out) backend first. That will uncover all the attachment places. Mine has 2 nuts that attach to 2 studs coming out of the floor. There is also 2 screws in this area as well that hold down the emergency brake cover section. Once those 2 are removed the E brake section should lift out, back end first.

Frankzao, you're right, my 00 Xedos is the same. I'd like to add though, to get the compartment tray out, pry a screwdriver gently in the middle of each side and it comes out real easy, front and rear simultaneously. The two outer front screws will loosen the handbrake cover. That's as far as I got without dismantling the hole thing myself.

When I had my alarm fitted, they put the activated flashing diode in there. but it seems to have dropped down, so I need to get at it to pop it back up.

speaking of alarms...is there a way to get your parking lights or something to flash when you unlock the car?

it doesnt do it factory. but im sure there is a way to rig it up. whether or not u wanna mess with the factory wiring, is up to you.

My Xedos flashes the turns three times when engaging/ disengaging the factory alarm. When the alarm goes off, it flashes the turns and honks the horn on and off. If the car is locked while sitting in the car, and one door is opened from the inside, it goes off.

yea, the Milly goes off like that too. but it doesnt flash or honk when u Lock or Unlock.

uh??? If you hit the lock button on the remote twice,it will beep. Hit it once it won't beep but it still locks. I always hit it twice due to the fact of ppl are shady in areas' of gainesville.

anyone know how to hook up the lights to the factory alarm? I suppose a relay from the horn would do it but then the lights would go off ANY time you hit the horn.
