Ghost T H
on my stock altima wheels and most other alloy wheels for that matter, they stick the weights on the inside of the wheel instead of around the edges of the outside, they seem to be stuck on with double sided tape, where can i purchase some of these wonderful weights? MazdaMomma
autozone or advance auto or pep boys? perhaps a tire dealer?
///BHRpowered
you should just ask for them when getting the tires balanced, if there off by even a degree you'll have a really fucked up ride
Ghost T H
well i have a balancer in my garage at school, we have to balance 4 tires, and mine are already balanced, but i was just wondering where to get those weights from
enginph
well i have a balancer in my garage at school, we have to balance 4 tires, and mine are already balanced, but i was just wondering where to get those weights from Have a question to you. Can you tell if the rim is bend on the balancer? Or how do you tell?
///BHRpowered
usually when its spinning they can tell, atleast those with a good eye. I'm sure you can find hte weights at any auto place, but I'm not a fan of them
Ghost T H
pretty much what bhr said if your not a fan of those weights, what do you use? you cant use regular ones on the outisde of the wheel, stick ons are the only way to go on nice wheels
///BHRpowered
I perfer the outside ones, to me they look more classy, maybe not the cheap ones from discount el jose tire, but the ones blended to match in chrome or alloy. I also have brushed alum valve stems which really makes a difference with the S wheels
Renboy
You think wheel weights look classy? And they look classier than ones you can't see because they're stuck to the inside of the wheel instead of fucking up the powder on the outer lip? Have you never seen what the other ones do to rims? I'd punch the shit out of someone if they clipped those to my wheel instead of the stick on ones.
mts
way to say it Ren.
///BHRpowered
Yes, I have, I don't like them, they just sit in there like a piece of gravel you picked up on the road, the ones on the outside mark the top of the tire and are clampped on, certainly not road debris. Renboy
And what happens when you need new tires and a balancing? They remove the ones that are there, and put them in a different spot. And the original spot will be quite visible since these fuck rims up. The stick on ones, peel off, clean glue left behind, and that's it. No evidence that they were ever there. Not to mention, you don't see them unless you're looking for them, the clip ons you see right away. Fuck that, stick ons all the way. Troutman
So one has to specificially ask for stick-ons when getting a balance?
Renboy
Yes. Unless you have a lip on your rims that will not accomodate the clip ons.
Troutman
Hmmm I might look into this. I never really thought about it but mine are on the outside and not exactly pretty. Cheers.
///BHRpowered
umm no, why would they be in a different spot? the rim should only be off balance in a single location, I have not had this problem. On the Jeep it would be nice since there are not 1 but 4 large weights to help balance it with the 32's, but sticks on are again not recommended
mts
umm no, why would they be in a different spot? the rim should only be off balance in a single location, I have not had this problem. Yeah a different spot... not all tires balance the same....
///BHRpowered
counting what came factory, I'm on my 4th set of tires, and either its in the exact same place, or I just clean better then others
MazdaMomma
you can get stick on weights for the rims? will have to check on those and the damn clip ons keep flying off on the right side of the Impala...
