Jdubs99
Using a Digital multi-meter, I've done some readings on the general electrical quality of the Millenia. Mazda must have put a lot of work into the car concerning the electrical system. Overall voltage drop from positive battery terminal in the front of the car to the the rear was only .1 volts. Compared to most cars (and mine is pushing 7 years), that is AMAZING. Mazda must have put chassis rigidity high up on the list for the sake of performance. Many car companies will use the minimum of welds possible, and use unibody "glue" to tighten things up. This results in a voltage drop across the body of most vehicles of up to about .5 volts. I guess Mazda learned from the mistakes of the RX-7 and other cars of the 80s. They were rife with weak solder points ending up in electrical failure of certain components with tight tolerances. ///BHRpowered
When built the Millenia was intended to be an extremely high end car, I remember seeing a picture of the original interior before they stripped alot down. the doors were more like the infiniti doors with padded leather for the arms, whole door covered in leather, much higher grade leather for the seats, better vinyl dash, leather armrest, woodgrain steering wheel on top, real solid wood trim pieces instead of plastic for the dash...
