Matt64341
These are just fake "xenon" bulbs. They suck and you should stay away from them. ...wait until BHR sees this topic...
///BHRpowered
NO NO NO FUCKING 2GIRLS1CUP NO NO NO They are cheap ass rice lights, you will have shitty ass decreased light output, they will blow in under 3 months, and are just utter bullcrap. THEY ARE NOT XENON, they are tinted bulbs, rice lights.
Graham
I used them in my wife's car. It's gone through about 6 bulbs in the time we've had it and at $20 each for standard bulbs, that's a bit steep. So I tried these ebay blue bulbs and the light output was OK, it didn't melt the plastic lenses that the Toyota Sera has and they lasted about as long. And for $9 delivered, I couldn't complain at all. The car now has true HIDs and I haven't had a problem in 12 months. The rice lights might work, they might be illegal but .... get HIDs if you're doing it to upgrade the lighting. Cheers G.
latinopikachu
4300k on the horizon
mts
Very well said Graham, I have dabbled with similar bulbs in the past to no avail. Now that I have HIDs will never go back.
01mazda
where can i get a nice set of HID's with the bluish tint.. Dotn want to spend a shit load though
mts
Plan for minimum $150 for a kit. Since you have projectors, you just need a kit, the colour will be decided by the K rating, 4300K is very white, while 3000K is yellowish. ///BHRpowered
01, you do not want the blueish tint, that is hella fucking ricey. OEM hids are not blue there cutoff can bew blue/purple, but that is an optical illusion, you need to read the pinned thread on hids. What you want is OEM quality and output HID's 9006, 4300k go to ebay, find a 4300k kit with 9006 bulb base, 100-180 for a cheap kit, but I promise you once you see the output you will almost cry that you ever bought rice lights. colbylamb2006
i've read that 01-02 projectors on a basic 4300K kit can appear blue, the projectors give that illusion but it's the best in the business when it comes to HID lighting. 4300K is OEM. Now that I've decided on keeping the car, I'm going to order HIDs right after I get in all my Christmas money!!!$$$$
///BHRpowered
no, the cutoff will seem blue, the foreground will be white, as its suppose to be. automakers do things the best way for a reason, if these rice kits were better, they would use them. Go 4300k or go home
Troutman
Unfortunately HIDs in reflector headlamps isn't a logical option at all.
///BHRpowered
but if your going to do it then above all eles you should get 4300k D2R
DoN_BLaZe34
has anyone ever tried led fog lights?
Graham
Would LED lights be close to bright enough ????
DoN_BLaZe34
Would LED lights be close to bright enough ???? that's exactly what i'm wondering
///BHRpowered
Nope, not even remotely close. Right now drop in LED's are barely acceptable for brake lights, it has increased with spread, but in terms of actual driving light there is nothing, only 1 car in the world has LED headlights with is the R8, 1 of the lexus chink models was suppose to have it but it seems that was scraped. Now, you can get H3 LED's which will make it "look" like your lights on on, but it won't actually put any light on the ground. Actually they use them alot at car shows, you get to see what the car looks like with lights on, but no light is really projected so no one gets blinded. DoN_BLaZe34
yeah i just did a quick search and all ebay sellers have a disclaimer saying that they're just for show...i may get some 9005's since this is the case...
///BHRpowered
why do that? you have a bixenon retrofit.
DoN_BLaZe34
that's the EXACT reason why...my 9005's are useless now..i need something to go in there
///BHRpowered
you don't need anything to go there, you have low beams and high beams. The only benefit would be to flash someone with hid's off, but during the day they wouldn't provide anywhere near enough light to be seen, so its useless. Once you put the bixenon is the 9005 becomes useless, just forget its there
Troutman
I have the LED fog lights and yes they are very dim indeed. A small consolation is that the later model Autolumination LED fogs are much more powerful than my 1 watt, but still not recommended.
DoN_BLaZe34
first off, bhr, SHUT UP secondly, i'm not putting them in my fogs...i want them in for my 9005's...i wanna be able to run my hid lows, my halogen fogs (yes my fogs are now halogens), and the led 9005's at the same time w/o people thinking i have 3 main beams.. ///BHRpowered
you know I will never be quiet. I ask agian, why would you WANT the high beam area running, you'll look like a dirty chink in an acura or lexus with daytime running annoy everyone on the road
