ChiTown
so my remus is on the way but i am still unclear what cat to buy. On magnaflows website they listed the inlet and outlet of the cat for the milly 2.3 as 2in. is that correct? I want to do 2.5 in piping, should i get one with 2.5" inlet and 2.5" outlet? any info is appreciated or if someone already has one i can just get that one.... ///BHRpowered
crap....its been so long I don't even remember which one I ordered, but it was a magnaflow. I seem to remember the inlet being 2.25 on the S, as well as outlet. You clearly want a 2.5 outlet, but I would double check the inlet. damn posts, the 2.5 is different from the 2.3 though which remus did you go with? I can't find the dual angled tips anymore
mts
Mine was Magnaflow, 2.5 in and out.... but then again it was all custom.
enginph
Before the muffler my pipe is 2inch thick. A 2 inch c-clamps hardly fits, 2.25" is loose. I know because I had to install the c-clamp for the broken hanger.
///BHRpowered
how would the C clip barely fit, should be standard sizes? hangers going bad? sounds like salt abuse.
ChiTown
i trust the almighty MTS and will get 2.5 in and out. the remus i got is called the twin angled. sometimes referred to as the twin 42.
SteveSter
Your stock exhaust should be 2.5 going into the cat and 2.25 going out of the cat and into the muffler. So what you want to do it change that cat to have a 2.5 inch outlet and then get the exhaust put on.
mts
I might have a cat-back Borla for the Fusion
///BHRpowered
I must agree with MTS, as I swear its 2.5 in and 2.25 out. I know some people change out the resonator as well, but I think it sounds better with it
Frankzao
ugh...all this exhaust talk makes me wanna change mine too ....
///BHRpowered
I suggest a spoiler, remus, hiflow cat, and of course HID's if you haven't already. hmm, if I went to fl to pick up that 02 I wonder if I can fly with an HID kit?
mts
NO SPOILER. Spoils the lines of the car. Why couldn't you take HID kit on the plane? It is just wires and bulbs. I take about 10 cables on the planes all the time with my computer bag.
enginph
I could be 2.25'' I had to change that C-clip too many times now I forgot what fitted. My brother has two resonators from evo9, remus is quiet enough for highway and loud enough for slow cruising. Before that he had straight pipe but it was disturbing on highway. Frankzao
spoiler would be nice NDD. Alas, no $$$ right now.
ChiTown
so the shop will have to install a 2.5" ID resonator as well? since the stock one is 2.25... what about an ebay cat?: Ebay cat
SteveSter
ChiTown take a look at the exhasut videos on youtube, there are some videos on there of a before/after resonator removal with a remus. Depends what you like, if anything you could throw a cherry bomb glasspack on there too for that nice deep sound. Do they have emission laws where you live? If not no cat, or just any ebay cat will do just fine.
///BHRpowered
yes, you need an aftermarket resonantor MTS - I'm really not sure, I don't think its forbidden per say, but they would be uneasy with random bomb looking parts going in a carry on bag. mts
MEH, I travel every week via airlines.... never had issue with wires and such. BUT god forbid you forget a 3mm allen key in your computer bag...
Frankzao
no tools? what?
///BHRpowered
why can't you have an allen wrench?
enginph
Last time they took away the seafoam from my checked in luggage. BEfore that skippy peanut butters. They said they are liquid, I said drink it yourself then dammit.
///BHRpowered
seafoam in a very flammable, and possibly explosive item so I can understand that. but if for some reason I flew to fl to pick up that millenia it would be a 2 day trip, and I would want HID's. Other option would be to ship myself a care package to steves house or something. a spoiler, hid's, some tools etc.
enginph
seafoam in a very flammable, and possibly explosive item so I can understand that. Its not flammable when I ship with UPS?
///BHRpowered
Yes it is. As a former UPS driver I can tell you if they knew exactly what it was there would be extra issues, every truck has a GIANT orange book in the cab about stuff anything flammable can be shipped UPS but only via ground services and cannot fly. street3890
go no resonator too what does the high-flow cat actually do?
