DoN_BLaZe34
so i think i'm goin to try to con my mother into getting tires for the S rims...only thing is i don't know what size to get? suggestions? i don't want an extra skinny tire either...thanks
///BHRpowered
The stock size is 215/50/1. I run 225/45/17. They fit extremely well, provide a very large selection of tires, provide a wider contact patch, but at the same time suit the car very well. I believe JK was running 235/45/17, and of course MTS has his 255's
DoN_BLaZe34
thanks...u don't think i'll have issues running those in the winter do u?
///BHRpowered
I say 225/45/17 is the best, your speedo will read almost exactly the same, handling will be improved but not a thin tire. As for winter, depends on the tire, you can run an all out max performance summer tire in the winter, its only problems are ice and snow
DoN_BLaZe34
if anything, i'm gonna go with all season tires as opposed to summer tires..
///BHRpowered
Psh, the idea of all purpose anything does not appeal to me.I mean, just because its cold doesn't matter, might take awhile to heat up and get as much grip, but thats like a mile, max summer tires only suck when its icy and snowing, which a 2wd and all season tires doesn't handle great in to begin with. Trust me, I drove the millenia with my potenza's in 5" of fresh snow on top of an ice layer, slowest trip home ever...and 36 hours later, my first jeep
DoN_BLaZe34
but jersey's notorious for both ice and snow in the winter
excluesiveonez
buy some all seasons that are rated good for snow
