Frankzao
OK here is the deal. I want to fix up my Milly, but the cost to do so is too high. However, there are these 2 in my area. What do you think? One is a 1996 Millenia S with 118K, some minor front and passenger side damage. The second is a 2000 Millenia S Millenium Edition with 63K. Obviously, paying more for the 2000 vs the 1996 is logical, but how much more and how little for the 1996? So which one would you pick and how high would you go? why? Here are the links: 1996 Millenia S 2000 Millenia S

Frankzao
Low blue book is 11K I offered him 5k last week when it was on a buy it now or best offer deal. Now it is just an action. 5k plus all the taxes and fees will make it around $5700 out the door.
ChiTown
5700 would be a steal for the 00' but i still say something was wrong with the car when it went in for 60K service. i was on my way to look at a 00 ME 67K for 6,500 but then they called me and told me they wouldnt be selling the car, it was going back to a wholesale auction. i asked why, he said that something was wrong with the car in the neighborhood of 2 grand so they wouldn't sell it. probably because they knew the 1000 mile warranty they give out would end up costing them a pretty penny. i saw the pics of the car, i looked in near perfect condition, but i never got my test-drive. also, it was at a lexus dealership as a trade in....milly owners movin on up. MazdaMomma
I would go for the 00 silver millenium edition. No more than 12,500. Take it for a test drive and then I would also take it to a reputable mechanic and have it checked out. It is worth the $75 or so to have a mechanic check it out. Also gives you some bargaining power if you know what the problems are... Avoid the other like the plague. Too many problems and dents to make it worth getting. Leaking radiator? Run away from that car.
///BHRpowered
then again at 63k it may never have even had the 60k service and needs tires, thats a good 2k there (if you do the full service, + spark plugs, and quality tires)
mts
Get it serviced and listen to the S/C... listen for a slighty metallic rattle on cold start... press the gas pedal and let off quick and listen carefully for a rattle when it spools down.... could mean the ABV is not opening quick enough and allowing the pressure to bleed off.... ABV vent Solenoid.... this freaks people out into thinking their engine is terminal.

///BHRpowered
the price you got it at is almost insulting to the millenia name, only thing I would check is making sure the 60k service was done

///BHRpowered
umm, that was a pro millenia comment retard, and the bluebook value is still in the low 12's for my area. addtionally, no I haven't had any diet coke this morning, 2 sick

///BHRpowered
umm no, the cheaper a car the less its name rings true, buying a car at HALF its actual value and then thinking you paid to much seems insulting. if you bought an F430 for 90k and complained you paid to much people would go around saying its a replica, as they rightly should
