millylover
Any more details, when it does it etc? When I start it. It hesitates 2 take off and accelerate 2. Sumtimes when I unhook the battery 2 reset my lite it stops. When I turn it off the the ce lite comes back on and then when I start 2 drive it the ce lite flashes. Also long shifts comes along with it 2.
enginph
Flashing CEL = misfire. Knock comes from it. When you listen the exhaust pipe you will hear some liquid like noise. Read the codes..
///BHRpowered
First of all, the millenia is one of the greatest cars ever 2nd, if your to the point where you disconnect your battery to get rid of the CEL then you are down right abusing your car, the light flashes for a reason, get a code reader, go to the dealer and pull it, go to autozone and get it pulled. its most likely a misfire, requiring a new coil, installed yourself around 100 buks if you find some used. but you need to get the code to see which one, and get the problem FIXED, your not even masking the problem. I DON'T unhook the fuckin battery 2 reset the lite constantly! I only did tha shit twice so calm the hell down. I took the damn car and got tha codes. Misfire on cyl. 6 and my knock also. Could have got sum bad gas. So I'm gonna let the tank go empty.(damn near there) and refill it wit 93 and maybe sum octane booster. I did let my gurl run sum errands in it. Hopefully she didn't put no gas in dats less than 91. I'm not bashin tha fuckin car 4 anybody who thinks they know so.

Bad gas won't cause all of that, if you have a misfire on cylinder 3 you need to take the coil out sand replace, if you won't to make 100% sure, switch it with another coil and see if the problem follows then you'll know. ///BHRpowered
cheap gas can cause lots of problems on the 2.3 regardless what ren thinks, BUT, it won't cause the problems your having, and even pumping shitty 87 through day in and day out won't result in what your talking about. if you want to be sure, run some seafoam through it, about 7 bucks. Task514
The other day, I learned that a bad battery (low voltage or dead) can cause misfires and hesitation on acceleration and idle. Which can cause the CEL to flash constantly.

///BHRpowered
get a plumbers wrench, works on stripped bolts on my jeep
SteveSter
There isnt enough space for a plumbers wrench there. It has to be a special socket set made for that. Besides that bolt is completely rounded. Your best bet is too try to remove it with pliers when the engine is completely cold since the metal hasnt expanded and everything isnt so tight. ///BHRpowered
If you could switch the coil with another cylinder, then see if a code appears for the new cylinder you'll know for sure its that coil.

It's that bolt and the front intercooler on tha bottom. Also how much would a knock sensor cost?
///BHRpowered
I haven't replaced any on the millenia, but the part is around 50-170, depending on brand etc if you have just a misfire switch the coils first, if you don't have a code for the knock sensor then they should be fine

Troutman
The last resort for rounded bolts is to weld a cheap socket bit to it then wrench it off.
