enginph
Heck the nuts I bought from autozone are like twice the weight of originals, though size is almost the same. Will it cause imbalance? MSRP for a stock nut is $6. 4 x 5 x $6 + tax = $130! I still have 60 mph vibration. Tires balanced twice, bent rim fixed. Still have it for years now.. ing-schu@online.no
Jack up each corner and check both rims and tires run evenly against a measuring point by turning slowly by hand. Lugnuts won't cause imbalance unless you mix types. I bet you have a rear unround wheel.

///BHRpowered
Like xedos said, unless you mix and match them it won't cause a problem, but that is a big difference
enginph
Thats what I am saying. I just changed one of them. There used to be a smaller one. I have a huge nut at one rear wheels. It is rounded so I couldnt take it out. Needs an impact gun. Why do you say its at rear?
ing-schu@online.no
Because unround or unbalanced wheels are easier detected in the car when mounted rear, and you said nuthin' about shakin' steeringwheel Oh, nice signature
///BHRpowered
yet it makes no sense, as my spoiler is stock. change out the lugs so they all match

ing-schu@online.no
Mmm, excuse me for asking, but how did you manage to balance your stuck rear wheel twice?
SteveSter
I have OEM Mazda Lock nuts and they weigh a bit more than the lug nuts themselves and I have no vibration. I wouldnt mix and match them though. If they arent expensive I would buy atleast the whole front or rear set or both.
ing-schu@online.no
I also use locknuts without issues. Newer compared weights but there is probably a difference. The closer the unbalance is to centre, the less is the influence. I can easily detect a 5 grammes unbalance on a rear wheel though. And what many may not know is that continued high speed driving with unbalance makes the tires oval, which again increases unbalance. A vicious circle. Therefore I recommend to check wheels for ovality when having issues. Two b*e*e*rcans is the perfect tool. One under the wheel as measuring guide and the other... enginph
Mmm, excuse me for asking, but how did you manage to balance your stuck rear wheel twice? I couldnt take it but mechanic can. It hasnt been out for 10k miles. Now its time for a rotation yet I couldnt move it. With a deep socket it may be possible with hand tools. I will go to a mech although its embarrassing
enginph
Its looks like twice of the others.
ing-schu@online.no
I doubt that would cause much unbalance though. If you've put 10k miles on that tire you'd be more than lucky if it is still balanced. I bet you have a 20-60 grammes unbalance which also caused an oval tire. I suggest the b*e*e*rcan test for starters.

ing-schu@online.no
I suggest Miller lager, my choice during MWM07 I believe ovality is likely to be annoying at certain speeds, while unbalance increases with speed. But often both issues occurs. A very oval tire (upwards 10 mm) is likely to be annoying at 30mph. Sub 2-3 mm ovality is acceptable in my book. enginph
10mm?? It would likely to cause death. Actually you suggested that before and I did it for the rears visually. The *Reference banned from MW* thing is the new sht If my tires are oval I doubt it is more than 1-2mm.
