I thought the same thing but I went through the form to see and the Millenia doesn't qualify because it has to have a combined rating of 18 MPG or less. I am sure people would have done it though, especially with trade in values for the Millenia so low. I would never have considered it.

Something you should know about the illegal socialists program

Don't even try to pull the fox news bias or glenn beck crap, unlike you dirty hippies they use FACTS, usually obtained through your own hippie writing to point out where your wrong.

This is no exception, just making the fine fine print alittle bigger.

You god damn son's of bitches

Surging demand from the US government's "cash for clunkers" program has helped lift Ford Motor Co to its first monthly increase in two years, the company's top sales analyst said on Sunday.

July sales results mark the first year-over-year gain for Ford since November 2007 and apparently the first uptick by any of the six biggest carmakers since last August, George Pipas said.

He declined to disclose a specific total before sales results are officially reported on Monday.

Dearborn, Michigan-based Ford sold a total of 161,071 vehicles in July 2008, down 15 per cent from a year earlier.

The increase further testifies to the successful reception of the government rebate program, which US President Barack Obama signed into law June 24 as part of a broad $US106 billion ($A129 billion) spending bill.

"We were having a good month - and Ford's been having some good months lately - but the (clunkers) program really put us over the top for sure," Pipas said in a telephone interview.

The government's Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS) was designed to get old, polluting vehicles off the road and scrapped while helping car dealers emerge from the recession.

Owners of gas-guzzlers could receive rebates of $3,500 or $4,500 toward the purchase of a new fuel-efficient car.

The program proved wildly popular and led to the sale of 250,000 new vehicles in just days.

no no NO

it is not popular, I posted the link saying that its a giant flop and that numbers being reported are and I quote "a survey of dealer estimated backlogged and pending transactions"

basically anyone that walked on a showroom

its a horrible program that will end up costing up to 1.5m jobs over the next 10 years as a result, all while wasting tax payer money.

Matt - you are 100% wrong, the people with cars that might not be as safe, but those people can't afford new cars anyway, so what are you going to do, take away used cars that are better they could afford, or put them into a payment they can't afford and fuel another credit crisis.

This illegal socialist is going well beyond even the worst predictions.

Or is it you want people driving smaller cars getting better gas mileage, hence a socialist view of things and impeding on peoples rights to drive what they want?

Glenn beck had an excellent piece of this

The follow cars are "clunkers" according to the illegal ghetto rat obama

Ferrari Enzo - value 1.7million

Mclaran F1 - value 2.1 million

Ferrari F50 - value 670,000

F40 - 540,000

James bond aston martin (one used in movie) valued at 5.2M

original shelby cobra - 350,000

The list went on, but basically all these priceless cars the communist wants taken off the road and give you 4500 dollars for so that they can be destroyed.

Keep in mind, almost EVERY car is worth atleast 3k in some fashion or another, and almost everyone is losing out on money.

Lured by the government's cash for clunkers campaign, American car and truck buyers started returning to showrooms last month, as Ford Motor Co reported its first US sales increase in nearly two years and other major carmakers said sales showed signs of stability.

Overall, carmakers are expected to turn in strong performances, most notably Korea's Hyundai Motor Co, which may pass Chrysler Group LLC and Japan's Nissan Motor Co in sales for the first time in history.

July sales, if converted to an annual rate, could top 10 million cars and trucks, the first month this year that sales rose above that depressed level.

As recently as 2007, US car and light truck sales topped 16 million vehicles, but the recession, tight credit and a lack of consumer confidence sent sales plunging late last year and during the first half of 2009.

Ford, led by the redesigned midsize Ford Fusion, and strong sales of the Escape crossover vehicle and F-series pickup line, offered encouraging signs for industry analysts who predicted a modest improvement in the second-half of the year.

wow saint, thats probably the dumbest thing iv ever read, even more then xedos socialist comments.

I would point out that 800 billion % of these "clunkers" are not clunkers at all, they are perfectly safe, well maintained functionaly cars that are arguable better fir for road driving then the peoples cars replacing them.

there has no bearing on safety or reliability, its personal choice - something the illegal socialist doesn't want

You don't like the tiny non male in the big truck, well what about the fat hippie in a tiny prius?

As long as they pay themselves.

Now anyone else wanna buy new car? I can still pay...
