Troutman
How would you get the alignment right, probably a tenth of a millimetre wrong would make the light shine a metre in the wrong direction.
Frankzao
Good point. Plus the 95-96 housings are plastic. I am currently dealing with a yellowing issue with my driver's side one. If my 2000 housings are glass, that may be more feasable.
///BHRpowered
97-00 is glass, but a retrofit is much harder. They are adjustable to a small degree up and down but you need to get the rotational angle and left right perfect. What I simply did was park, shine the lights, mark the location then do all work, then repark in EXACT same location and get the alinement to where it needed to be before securing everything into place. now, my retrofit is an extreme custom example. If you did a conventional retrofit into the reflector housings or the 95-96 housings then the buckets will still be adjustable - allowing you to have more room to work with being off
Frankzao
hmmm....either way that requires me to bake them in an oven. Use my stock 00 housings and replace the reflecter housing with a projecter OR use my 95-96 housings and simply "upgrade" the projector. ///BHRpowered
correct. if using 00 housings you would have your choice of shroud, some morito whatever h1's would be probably the only bixenons you could fit, many low beam only options. Frankzao
As long as I don't ruin the oven I should be fine.
///BHRpowered
Not really an issue, infact using the glass lenses is much better since glass can take much more heat. The only thing to be careful of is not applying too much pressure to the outer plastic housing as you can warp it. Many posts on hidplanet, generally I like 300 degrees for 8 mins. If you need more do more, just don't start high
Frankzao
Well I'll have to do more research and acquire the parts first
///BHRpowered
hidplanet.com Pretty sure the mositmoto whatever are the only bixenons that will fit into 97-00 housings, but a simple project swap with 95-96 lenses would be quite easy

///BHRpowered
The H1 morimoto bixenons are the smallest you can get and I THINK will fit the 97-00 housings. I use them in my audi and they are quite excellent. You do not need the entire kit, you can get projectors and the shrouds of your choosing from around 120-130. Then simply use your existing ballasts and pick up some new H1 hid capsules If just doing a swap into 95-96 lenses then you don't need a shroud but get the extra sealant they offer You want these http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_i...roducts_id=3181 Whatever style you like of these (for 97-00 only) http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php?cPath=30 and some of this. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_i...products_id=
