mts
That should really be worked out with those power hungry subs. But having 400 W RMS to spare should be lots. Who is building the box for you?

mts
Make sure he gets the necessary measurements from Blau. So that the air movement is adequate... or they will be diminished.
MazdaMomma
already have the speakers. The amp will work with them alright?

Jdubs99
Damn, i dropped the ball on this one. Box dimensions per the manufacturer shouldn't affect frequency response that much as long as the same box type is maintained. Basically if it's sealed you can deviate a little, maybe 30% before you notice the enclosure sounding a little weird. It will also depend on box type. Sealed boxes are normally pretty forgiving with deviation from specs, bandpass requires maybe 15% deviation, and a ported box requires very specific measurements to get the desired output. I would say within 5%.
MazdaMomma
A great big thank you goes out to all the guys who helped Gotta get his amp and speakers up and running at the meet. :notworthy: :notworthy: I cannot thank y'all enough. Jdubs99
He needs a cap asap to spare the alternator, his car was dropping below 12 volts on big bass notes. Once you start pulling 110% of an alternators rated output, it's a matter of time.
MazdaMomma
What size cap do you recommend Jdubs?
Jdubs99
As a bandaid, put a 1 Farad cap in line going to the sub amp. IF he's planning on two amps, get at least a 5 Farad supplying both. The battery looks good, he just needs to get the right supply power before he starts rowing through alternators. You can find the 5 farad caps on ebay or special order from Best Buy (last time i checked) for a couple hundred or less. As an alternative, you might was to see if the local car audio shop sells Ohio Generator alternators or Stinger Alternators. They will be expensive, but they can be rewound to supply 14.x volts, but at a much higher amperage level.
MazdaMomma
He is not getting another amp. That one is more than sufficient. 1 Farad should take care of it then?
excluesiveonez
why would he gewt a stinger amp when it is a ohio gen. alt anyway (plus 100 bucks) if hes going to spend 200 bucks on a 5 farad cap, dont waste the money and just go with the HO alt
///BHRpowered
well, at 2400w peak, 1 farat is a bandaid, but 2 or more would be fine for the whole system in general. I think his amp dipped to 11.2 at the lowest, when it should be a constant 14.
mts
I think I saw 10.9 once.... so yeah he is hitting the low levels...
