latinopikachu
im thinking it is a supplementary solar sensor fo the ac, instead of just the one over there by the pasengers side. I saw in an 800 picture today that the position where we have the dimmer, is opposite. The 800 has the dimmer on the right, and a little screened insert (perhaps telephone mic or air sensor)
mts
Likely a sensor, I think this fact was discussed somewhere....
///BHRpowered
the sensor is very interesting, I'm 99% sure its a different board, its just a different drop in unit, the ecu will have all the info it needs, the on ly difference is how much it relays to display and or calculates. Â my AMB button lights up at night with the lights on, I thought they all did? Â where is the 4WS light, I bet its an empty socket but have never looked, I may put a bulb in just for fun
SteveSter
My AMB doesnt light up, there isnt even a bulb socket. -Steven
latinopikachu
yes BHR the 4ws socket is empty, as if you had taken a bulb out from the CEL socket.  INTERESTING FINDS.  I pulled my dash just now and connected the 95 clock. It did not light up. No indicators, no nothing. AC still works, but display doesn't.  Disconnected AC amplifier, left my 2000 clock connected, didn't light up. It's something with the ac amplifier. Either that or I got a dud 95 clock, I kind of doubt that. I wish I had another one to test. Reconnected the 95 clock, Started car, 95 clock still does not light up. When you disconnect the AC amplifier it resets back to US measurements with the 71*F like it does when you disconnect the battery. It's too hot and too late in the afternoon for me to want to pull my AC amplifier and look at it.... So, there IS a differnce with clock units.  CUTO.   PLEASE. TAKE. APART. YOUR. DASH. AND. CLIMATE. UNITS.  I want to see if there's a difference.    My AMB doesnt light up, there isnt even a bulb socket. -Steven  yes there IS. look at the picture i posted above.  It's JUST like on the back of the speedometer, those little twistlock things that have a bulb that sit right in the middle of them. It's too damn hot for me to take apart my 2000 clock and see, but I know the my AMB lights up.

///BHRpowered
I cannot even gaze at my millenia until 12:01, but Im postive it does  no reason the 95 unit shouldn't work, I'm pretty sure people have interchanged them at 1 point or another, you might just have to install while battery is disconnected or something  I'm highly curious about the 4WS light
SteveSter
Ok yes your right there is a socket but no bulb. Where would we find that bulb? Mazda? Part number? And the display I have also has that eye thing your talking about.
enginph
AMB doesnt light up in 01. Cheap mazda even stole that bulb. Â
SteveSter
Anyone know the part number for it?
latinopikachu
you just have to find a broken speedometer and steal a bulb from it. therre the exact same little twistylock things. and i did notice the part nmber on the 95 clock is different from my 200 one. latinopikachu
well, put it in your pocket. it's a very small thing and would be idiotic for you to pay fo it. Â When you get there, get me an AC control from a 95.
SteveSter
Yea I need one too, half of mine doesnt light up. Ill let you know if I find one.
Matt64341
Just to confirm, I looked in the workshop manual and it is a diagnostic for the cruise control system.  Are there any blanks in the harness for the information display? In the wiring diagram it looks like there is a 20-pin harness with 9 wires and 11 blanks... There really isn't enough detail on the display though  Edit: One interesting find, there are two OBD signal pins on the harness to the AC amplifier. I would think those should be able to provide enough info to the display to show everything. I don't know what other significance to the AC system they even have... enginph
AC has to know your speed at least. This is to adjust fans, both interior and exterior. Â
