aamerh
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97-98-19...sQ5fAccessories and http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-00-1999-...sQ5fAccessories I remember something related to this coming up along time ago but not having actual remote functionality. ///BHRpowered
I was interested along with some other people, these do seem like a new design, before there were no buttons so it defeated the purpose...but if this worked...that would be sweet I assume they can be cut like a millenia's key
SteveSter
I want... Just dont feel like paying $100 to get the freakin key cut.
///BHRpowered
I'm wondering if the key can be cut, the millenia's key ends flat, these are pointed - it might not fit. but yes, cutting millenia keys is a pain, I would get one and program it first though to make sure it works before spending the money
excluesiveonez
i had a regular locksmith cut my keys for like 45 bucks back in the day....
///BHRpowered
if it worked, and a decent price you'd be looking at under 100 for 1 key...not bad. I might look into this
SteveSter
I have a non OEM remote for the Milly, works better than the original IMO.
///BHRpowered
how so, what kind is it part of an aftermarket remote system or starter, because thats not the same
SteveSter
No when I got my car I didnt have a remote so I ordered a brand new one off ebay but its not made by Mazda. It looks completely different but does the same thing and programs the exact same way with the same amount of buttons. Seems to have a longer range and has an LED which blinks when I press a button. ///BHRpowered
I don't really care about range, I'm never that far away from the millenia, but the flip key makes it much easier then carrying it all in your pocket. I wish I could do something like this for my jeep, but it has a chipped key
enginph
I am sure that thing feels so cheap.

MURRAYBRYSON786
about these keys they the millenia's cut key is the same as the Audi's and VW's flip key i bet you could go to the Audi dealer and get an unmarked remote flip key there the only thing is if the button's are programmable with the mazda i would think they are. ///BHRpowered
Different FCC id, I ASSUME these are correctly programed, especially since they actually have different years which use different codes.
SteveSter
01-02 use a different code.
Troutman
I thought people had problems with aftermarket remotes back in the day. Probably threads about it on the original site.
///BHRpowered
95-96, 97-00 and 01-02 are all slightly different, despite looking the same some people had problems, but its possible that its been corrected. I'm tempted to pick one of these up, but I would program before getting the key cut
Troutman
I seem to recall there was no aftermarket option for a '95 at the time. Was one of the biggest bummers of the car.

enginph
I got a laser key cut quote from a local locksmith. The key blank is lexus but the price is $30. I would get it if it wasnt lexus.
///BHRpowered
I still wouldn't spend the time or money to cut a key for a remote that doesn't work
