I was mildly concerned about how hot yours was running though, even after the same drive, or extreme exercise, my hood never gets hot, maybe lurk warm in the summer, thats it, inside it was near burning.

 

I run fully synethetic and a 185 degree thermostat, but only other difference is I do have that "wetter water" stuff in the coolant

If the A/C is on it will always be below half as the second fan comes on. Mine is about 1/16 below the half mark when stuck in traffic with the A/C on. When on the open highway with the A/C on is 1/8....

Did you if your going 45 mph over above it's more fuel efficant to use you a/c and open your windows under 45, because if you have you windows open at 45 and above it causes drag!!!

-Saw it on mythbusters lol

 

And if not used often, the seals dry out on the compressor and the freon will leak out.... recommended to cycle once and a while in the winter also.

Yes, thats correct, that doesn't mean I like to use it.

 

I do of course "use it" multiply times a year just to keep it in working order, although never for very long, certainly not 8+ hours.

 

In the jeep its the opposite, to keep the blend doors from freezing you have to use the heat in the summer now and again

but it was humid as fuck, and no, I don't like the heat, yet despite that, I still don't use the a/c even if its 110.

 

And for the past 3 days its been 97+, still not using a/c in the jeep.

 

On the other hand, when its 20 below you all run and hide behind your heat

 

I ALWAYS wear shorts. Rain or shine. Heat or Cold. :tongue:
