enginph
I had the mech changed all spark plugs 2.5 years ago with iridium. Here is what comes out today: 1-4-5 are denso 2-3-6 are ngk iridium, all with wrong gap. Damn!
///BHRpowered
what a lazy fuck, clearly you had this done outside of a mazda dealership your sure that he atleast changed all 6? and not just changed 3 and the others were factory original, I can't remember if they had champion or denso from the factory, I want to say champions were in mine

They are not original, wrong gap size. It was done at 100k miles, so should have changed before. The worst thing is two front were so loose that I can rotate them with just the extension bar! They might blow something up there...
SteveSter
BHR they came with NGK's and that is really shitty Saint.
mts
That asshole saw how hard it was in the back, and said fuck it.... left the old ones in. And prolly charged you for the whole job regardless.

///BHRpowered
steve - I'm not sure about 01-02, but I have confirmed that from the factory champions were used, and since I'm one of the only people who bought a NEW millenia, and malice took a pic when we changed mine it is confirmed. It also states in the manual champions were used, 100k is FAR to long, even the 60k plugs I do at 45k
enginph
I agree with MTS....now that you've done yours, care to come and replace mine? Hey I remember you can do t-belt on S? We can make a deal and since I'm one of the only people who bought a NEW millenia, All milleniae were bought new. Unless you dont buy a bunch of them there are as many people as millies who bought new. So you are not one of the only people
Frankzao
Never replaced a T-belt on an S. I have on a 2.5 but not the 2.3. I am sure they are similar, and besides, I have the shop manual. Anythings possible............
SteveSter
There is a write up in the other world on how to change t-belts for both. Its a bit technical but its stright from Mitchell.
Frankzao
I'll keep that in mind when I need to change mine. The only belt I need to change now though is the main serpintine belt. Anyone know of anything else I should look at/change while I'm doing it?

Anyone know of anything else I should look at/change while I'm doing it? You can change the bearings on the pulleys (2 needed I think). Cheap from napa. You need a shop with a press and another car. ///BHRpowered
steve - most people actually leased a millenia new, then sold it, someone drove for a few years then a ghetto rat got ahold of it other then malice I would like you to find me a member here or even the pissbucket that purchased a millenia NEW off the showroom floor. No dealer demos, no "it was in the family" brand spanking new with plastic from the factory. champions were used on the S.
SteveSter
BHR Saint said that not me. He was kidding saying that they were all bought new cause where else would they come from anyways you obviously do not understand humor so whats the point in explaining this. Anyone know of anything else I should look at/change while I'm doing it? You can change the bearings on the pulleys (2 needed I think). Cheap from napa. You need a shop with a press and another car. If you need any info on that, I changed the bearings recently. I have the Napa part # which I can find again and I just used a vice and some sockets to press the bearings. I would really recommend you replace them at the same time since you need to take the belts off anyways and the bearings usually have only a slightly longer lifespan than the belts. I had a bearing seize up and separate from the pulley which damaged the whole tensioner. I ended up doing a lot of extra work than if I had just done them as preventative maintenance. ///BHRpowered
it is a human emotion. I don't ever remember hearing about factory tours, but I vividly remember the night I went to go pick mine up, told them to leave all the window stickers and factory plastic on, I didn't even peel it off the rims to drive home, brought a single cd with me and drove so freakin slow, then over to my friends house to showoff, then the following day I tailored my outfit to match the color scheme of the millenia
aamerh
How did you decided the millenia was the car for you before buying?
enginph
How did you decided the millenia was the car for you before buying? I already knew its the best mazda ever made from my brother. When I see the prices in US, although I was looking for a smaller sportier one, there is no other option but find a milly
///BHRpowered
aamerh - It just sort of happened with me. At the time I was driving an infiniti i3ot and wanted something more sporty, something that stood out, I looked around at lots of cars from audi s4's to mustang gt's, during the course of my search I saw a 97-98 in a parking lot and loved the styling, so I did some more research and decided it had exactly what I wanted. At the time it was pretty fast and certainly commanded respect in the high school parking lot. after 18 months of searching I found mine, I nearly ended up with an 01 but passed, then one saturday night I was just on autotrader did a search and found none, hit reload and it jus appeared, I instantly called to confirm that it was infact a black on tan S, no gray interior, no tu tone garbage, fully loaded etc. Some bitch was all suprised at how fast I called but explained they were actually closed for the night. So I

So over the phone I gave a 500 dollar deposit and told them to leave it as is, just put a va inspection on but leave all the plastic and factory wrap on. I had to go to school the next day and was a nervious wreck that someone would try to buy it, that some ignorant mexican would try to pressure wash it or anything, RIGHT after school I shot over there. Sat in the car, took a quick round the block test drive and nearly refused to get out until the papers were signed NO ONE WAS GOING TO TAKE IT FROM ME!!!! Sat down in the office, paid 31,750 cash, and yes xedos, despite what you want to believe the spoiler was there from the factory, still covered in protective plastic. Along with the bose "test disc" a bunch of papers, the key code tag, and a cd changer cleaner My only real regret was I purchased a 1300 dollar extended warrenty, 7 years 70k or something. I have not had to pay 1 cent for repairs, other then at most a premature PS flush, so 1300 dollars was wasted there.
enginph
I am sure you can still fix the paint if you remove the spoiler. It is not late for anything.
