Well, that was a fun adventure. Yesterday I went to u-haul got a nice flatbed trailer and a manual winch. I grabbed my millenia's spare tire, jack up the car, put it in, used my jeeps now hardwired trunk mounted air compressor to inflate the remaining tires. I addition I peeled of as much of the tape as I could holding on the plastic bag, then took a screw driver and knocked out as much glass as I could to prevent it from flying off while going down the road on the trailer.

The key has been ordered but I didn't have it yet, so me and a JF buddy that came with me simply tilted the trailer, and I used my tow rope to pull it onto the trailer, not the best idea, but it worked. Secured it down and away we went.

Now since I'm currently out of garage space I bought one on those lawn tent things for cars and set it up underneath the deck. got the trailer in postion, then had to use the winch to slowely pull it off trailer, and after 20 minutes, it was in its new resting place to be restored.

Now for the time being I jacked it up and put it on top of cinder blocks, just so I don't have to keep jacking it up to get underneath. Spent probably 40 minutes with latz gloves cleaning up just disgusting trash, including used sparkplugs in the front and rear seat, vacuumed up rest and the glass.

Hooked up some jumper cables, didn't try to start it of course, but all lights, wipers, instrument panels etc are working. However I do not yet have a key, and the trunk/gas remote switch has been removed, so I have yet to get into the trunk and can only imagine what I might find there.

I'm hoping to scrub the leather hardcore wit ha special leather buffer I got so that I feel san even sitting in the sar, shampoo the carpets, get some mats, and from there I can atleast sit in it.

I'm waiting on cleaning up the exterior, getting tires, battery, etc etc until I change the engine fluids and get it started, from there it will continue

Ren, as posted, I used my tow rope from the jeep and dragged it onto the trailer, then when I got it back home I used the manual winch to slide it off, as posted earlier, my whole reason for getting it. It wasn't THAT bad since the ground was slightly wet and the tires shot, but yeah, I could have done it better if I wanted to wait.

Key came in today and damn it, I just keep finding trash, I swear some ghetto rat was living in there and set up a popeyes franchise.

As for smells, none to speak of so to speak, I mean it smells kind of piney from like 3 cheap taxi things hanging, I'v only fully vacuumed and partly shampood the drivers area and I did put a good amount of febreeze down, my big concern was mold from possibly food or whatever left, but none so far.

interesting. i still think that the engine doesnt work. b/c if it was some ghetto rat that owned it as u said b4, then he would drive it till the motor blew/quit. now, since u found it in that condition, more than likely the motor is gone as well as the transmission as the transmission going out is a common problem among millenias that are not taken care of. so i suggest that u should go ahead and buy a rebuilt probe v6 manual tranny and a klze. i can get u a really good deal on one if u want. but swapping in the original one is gonna be difficult/expensive cuz u wont find a motor in good condition and rebuilding it will be, well its a millenia, need i say more?

Look people, I do NOT want to do an engine swap. that has NEVER been the plan, infact it has never seriously crossed my mind in any way. its a massive waste of time and money, and for what, to have something still slow that I won't drive often anyway?

Under no condition, for any car or any type have I wanted to do swaps, even if I was into hotrodding I would rather spend 3 times as much money restoring an original engine and custom making parts if needed, then putting in a technology superior, 50 year newer engine.

well since I was up so early I got working on it early

I put 8 gallons of fresh fuel in with some injector cleaner, fresh fuel filter, removed all door panels and seats to perform a proper cleaner, put in spark plugs, hooked up my old battery from the jeep, turned the key and...IT BREATHED AGAIN!!!!

Now, it does indeed have a tapping/knocking sound, I revved it alittle bit and it seemed to get worse. the CEL light is on but I have not yet pulled the codes, exhaust seems to be leaking, and while I was going around, and letting it warm up, car died. tried to start again and the battery was dead, so...I'm thinking it also needs a new alternator.

the valve cover was removed when I got the car remember, and I did pour some oil overthem, however that was thursday.

Its much louder then that, not to mention, my S does not knock, when it hasn't been started in even 2 months.

its sounds like someone tapping on a pin or something, its like a pinging sound, but very loud, even with the hood closed and maybe 50ft away you can hear it but not the engine

mts, this morning I had not even engaged the tranny. The car is currently sitting up high on blocks. 2 tires do not hold air , 1 rim is badly bent, and 1 wheel where the rim is ok the belts within the tire have seperated and it looked like it was going to explode so I deflated it. The best rim and tire on the whole car is my spare.

I'm going to have to look more into this noise and what it could be since even after running the car for a combined 30 minutes or so with stops it is still there just as loud. I can't drive it to see how it feels on the road, and I will need to change the tranny fluid as its as brown as a poopadoopalus.

This is hte part where ren is going to come in and blah blah blah.

There are certain things I won't do, like changing transmission fluid, or power steering fluid myself. And on the L everything is pretty straight forward.

and my S, I don't even like to change the oil myself, I like to do all my own electronics and lighting of course, but pretty much everything eles but brakes I go to the dealer. I just don't want to mess with it. On my M its about the same, brakes, electronics, and lighting.

and on the jeep's I'v owned, well its all so simple, and because just being simple there is enough room to work that I spend my time doing the work instead of figuring out how to bend my arm.

I loved my old jeeps 4.0 i.6 that was by far the best engine in existance to work on. Hell, I could have probably it down to the raw block without even removing it from the car it was so simple, well designed, and so much extra room

I agree with that for the jeep, but I just don't wantto be fiddling around like its replaceable, because its not.

and even on my jeep, during the dead of winter I still go to the dealership for oil changes, why? because its piss cold and I'm not taking the others out of the garage to do it
